The Kerala Story 2 Box Office Collection Day 6: The box office run of The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond continues to draw attention across the film industry. The controversial sequel has crossed the Rs 20 crore mark in India within six days of release. However, its performance is still far behind the success of its predecessor, which became a major HIT in 2023.

Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah under the banner of Sunshine Pictures, the sequel has struggled to maintain the strong momentum created by the first film. Despite controversies and reduced shows in theatres, the movie is still managing to attract audiences in some cities.

The original film was directed by Sudipto Sen and went on to receive major recognition, including the National Award for Best Director. Because of that success, expectations from the sequel were naturally very high. Trade analysts are now closely watching how the film performs in the coming days.

The Kerala Story 2 Box Office Collection Day 6

According to Sacnilk, The Kerala Story 2 earned Rs 3.50 cr on Day 6 (Wednesday) at the Indian box office. This is slightly lower than its Day 5 (Tuesday) collection of Rs 4 cr. Tuesday’s earnings had jumped significantly from Monday’s collection of Rs 2.5 cr, which came after a sharp drop from Sunday. The increase on Tuesday was partly because of the Holi holiday in several parts of India.

The film opened with Rs 0.75 cr on Friday. It then saw a big jump on Saturday with Rs 4.65 cr, followed by Rs 4.75 cr on Sunday. After the fall on Monday and a slight recovery on Tuesday, the film earned Rs 3.50 cr on Wednesday. After six days in theatres, the total India net box office collection stands at Rs 20.15 cr.

The film also faced release hurdles. The Kerala High Court cleared the film for release only on Friday evening. This happened a day after the court had initially stayed the release because of the film’s controversial subject.

Even though the sequel has crossed Rs 20 crore, it remains far behind the early performance of The Kerala Story. The first film had already collected over Rs 68 crore in its first six days (240 percent more). The original movie went on to run in theatres for nearly seven weeks and finished with a domestic total of Rs 241.74 crore. Out of this, Rs 239.05 crore came from the Hindi version, while Rs 2.69 crore came from the Telugu-dubbed version.

The difference in budget also makes the comparison interesting. The Kerala Story was made on a budget of Rs 15 crore, while The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond has been produced at around Rs 30 crore. While the original film earned more than sixteen times its production cost, the sequel still needs around Rs 10 crore more just to recover its budget.

Another challenge is the reduction in shows. The film lost 350 shows on Tuesday and another 437 shows on Wednesday, leaving around 3055 shows running across India.

Occupancy has remained strongest in a few cities. Chennai recorded the highest occupancy at around 30 percent, followed by Ahmedabad at 25.75 percent, Surat at 20 percent, Bengaluru at 14.50 percent and Jaipur at 13.50 percent.

About The Sequel

Released on February 27, 2026, The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond expands the narrative beyond a single state and tells the story of three women from different parts of India. The film features Ulka Gupta, Aishwarya Ojha and Aditi Bhatia in the lead roles.

The story follows three Hindu women (Surekha, Divya and Neha) who are allegedly manipulated by men through romantic relationships and false promises. The narrative explores themes of deception, forced religious conversion and abuse. The climax includes dramatic events, such as arrests of the accused and a controversial “justice” sequence. The film ends with a strong message about resistance and awareness through a slogan – “Sahenge Nahi, Ladenge.”

Coming back to its theatrical run, the film still has some breathing space at the box office. No major releases are scheduled until Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, arrives in theatres on March 19 during Eid. Until then, the makers will be hoping that the sequel continues to collect steady numbers.

And then suddenly being, you know, like aware of there’s maybe like a desire from other people of you to convey that in some way, or it means you’re not feeling what you’re feeling or something, you know?”

Despite the sadness, Styles believes the best way to honour Payne is to live life fully. He said, “And I think the greatest way you can honour your friends who pass away is by living your life to the fullest. Like super special person and really sad.”

Meanwhile, Payne’s death is still part of an ongoing legal investigation in Argentina. Authorities confirmed that the singer died instantly due to multiple injuries from the fall. Toxicology reports later found alcohol, cocaine and prescription antidepressants in his system.

Earlier, manslaughter charges against three men linked to the case were dropped. However, two men (Ezequiel Pereyra and Braian Paiz) are still accused of selling the drugs involved. If found guilty, they could face prison sentences of four to fourteen years.

After the tragedy, Styles attended Payne’s private memorial service along with other former One Direction members at St Mary’s Church, Amersham in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, in November 2024.

Lara is currently in Dubai with her daughter Saira. In the video posted on Instagram, she spoke openly about the frightening moments she experienced while working in the city. The actress also said she is now trying to find a flight back to Mumbai.

The actor explained that she had travelled to Dubai for a brand commitment when the conflict began. The city has also been her home for the last three years. However, the sudden escalation of tensions has created a worrying situation for many residents and travellers.

Lara Dutta Recalls Hearing Explosions In Viral Video

In the viral video, Lara spoke about the moment she heard explosions while shooting at a studio in Dubai. The sudden sounds left many people shocked and worried.

She said, “We have been in Dubai since the start of this Israel-Iran war, what’s being termed the Israel-Iran war. UAE, Dubai has been my home now for the last three years. I have spent a considerable amount of time here. I was actually shooting on the 28th at a studio in Dubai…We started hearing the explosions overhead, ran out of the studio, and saw missiles being intercepted. It’s been a few, I can’t lie, stressful days. I have my daughter here with me, Mahesh was away for work, he wasn’t in Dubai thankfully.”

Lara’s husband (former tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi) was not in Dubai at the time. The actress said the last few days have been difficult, especially because her daughter is with her during this tense situation.

Despite the fear, Lara praised the authorities in the United Arab Emirates for ensuring people’s safety. She said, “I just want to say that the UAE government has done an incredible job. I think, for every single person – I won’t speak for anybody else – we felt really looked after. We felt wanted, we felt protected, regardless of our nationality or where we’re from.”

She also thanked everyday workers who continue to do their jobs despite the situation. “We feel like we count, we matter. The UAE government, as a resident, as somebody living in this city, is making sure they do everything in their power to protect us and keep us safe. I’m amazed my gardener has been showing up every day mowing up my lawn, watering the plants.”

Searching For Flights To Return Mumbai

Towards the end of the video, Lara became emotional while talking about the situation. She admitted that the experience has been scary, especially for children.

She added, “I’ve so much respect and admiration for just ordinary, normal people who don’t have a choice of looking at wanting to get out, who are keeping this country running. We are actually looking at flights; there aren’t too many, but there are some, Etihad and Emirates. But we are looking at flights to try and get back to Mumbai. More so because I think the kids are a lot more nervous about this, we are as well as grown-ups. We keep it together for the kids. So we are looking at flights and trying to get out by some means. We will figure it out.”

The actress also spoke about another tense situation she experienced earlier. She concluded by saying, “I was in India when India and Pakistan went to war. We saw how well our country protected us there. It’s the same here… No civilian deserves to live in fear or to be caught up in a war that is destabilising the entire region. I hope common sense will prevail. Better judgment will prevail with everybody who’s making these decisions. Until then. We continue.”

Many friends from the film industry reacted to her post. Actor Richa Chadha wrote, “I’m glad you’re safe, Lara, and credit where credit is due to the UAE govt.” Actor Sudhanshu Pandey commented, “Lara, my dearest, you hang in there, all will be well. Stay together stay strong, this will be over soon.”

Earlier, actors Esha Gupta and Sonal Chauhan were also stranded in the UAE during the rising tensions. However, they have now safely returned to India.

Child Suffers 45% Burns Below Waist

The child, identified as Om Harish Wange, was playing outside his home with a spray bottle filled with paint as part of Holi festivities. According to reports, he accidentally sprayed some colour on his grandmother, Sindhu Thackeray, who was carrying a bucket of water heated over Holi wood.

Eyewitness accounts state that the grandmother, angered by the act, threw the scalding water on the child. The hot water caused serious burns below his waist, affecting nearly 45% of his body. Family members immediately rushed him to a private hospital in Nagpur, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

CCTV Footage Sparks Outrage

Nagpur News: The CCTV recording of the incident shows a child coming toward his grandmother, smiling and spraying her with colour, and then she pours boiling water on him. The child can be seen crying out in pain and jumping back away from the boiling water, while witnesses rush in to pour cold water on him to help reduce the burns he received from the boiling water.

Since the footage has been posted on social media, there have been many calls for action and outrage from the public.

The local police have started a legal case against the grandmother for this act. As of the date of March 4, 2026, there have been no arrests made in this case, but authorities state that their investigation is ongoing.

This incident has tainted the celebrations of Holi in the community. In addition, it has raised questions regarding anger management in the home and the safety of children in the home.

The Loco Staff Union stated that officials denied the employee leave rights until they received better documentation of his medical status.

Lucknow News: The union stated that the pilot needed to show his surgical wound because the medical verification process required him to do so. Union representatives say the employee experienced both humiliation and pressure because he needed to present surgical proof to obtain official recognition of his work incapacity. People now question whether such verification methods should exist in professional workplaces because of this incident.

Loco Staff Union Raises Strong Objections

The Loco Staff Union has strongly criticized the alleged behavior of officials. Union leaders stated that railway employees, especially loco pilots, already work under stressful and demanding conditions. They argue that employees should be treated with dignity and that medical certificates from doctors should be sufficient proof for granting leave. According to the union, forcing someone to show their surgical wound crosses the line of workplace sensitivity and respect.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s Media Head Punjab and Chief Spokesperson of Nasha Mukti Morcha Baltej Pannu on Wednesday visited an anti-drug crusader undergoing treatment at Mohan Dai Hospital after the activist was injured in an attack by individuals involved in drug peddling. During the visit, Baltej Pannu met the whistleblower and their family to extend solidarity and assure them of full support from the Punjab Government.

Baltej Pannu was accompanied by MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu along with members of Nasha Mukti Morcha Punjab. He conveyed that the Bhagwant Mann Government stands rock-solid with those who are courageously confronting the drug menace and exposing those involved in peddling.

Baltej Pannu said, “The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is waging a relentless and multi-dimensional war against drug peddlers and smugglers. We will completely eliminate this curse from Punjab.”

He reiterated that the decisive campaign Yudh Nashean Virudh has entered its final and most intensive phase, with the Punjab Government determined to eradicate drugs from Punjab completely.

Baltej Pannu also assured the injured crusader’s family that the Punjab Government is extending full support and assistance. “The government is providing complete support to the victim’s family. I will personally remain in constant touch and ensure every possible assistance during the recovery process,” he said.

Issuing a strong warning to those involved in drug trafficking, Baltej Pannu said, “Drug peddlers must either leave Punjab or face severe and uncompromising action. We will not rest until the drug menace is eradicated entirely from Punjab.”

He added that the Punjab Government has already intensified its crackdown through widespread arrests, attachment of properties of drug traffickers, convictions under the NDPS Act, and community participation through around 1.5 lakh volunteers of Nasha Mukti Morcha who are actively supporting the campaign to eliminate drugs from Punjab.

Bhagwant Mann: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, on January 22, 2026, launched the ambitious Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna in Mohali, alongside AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal. The scheme promises cashless health insurance coverage of up to ₹10 lakh per family annually, covering all 65 lakh families — nearly three crore residents — without any income, age or family size restrictions.

Universal Coverage Without Eligibility Barriers

The state government said the scheme makes Punjab the first state in India to offer such comprehensive universal health coverage. Unlike previous insurance programmes, the new initiative does not impose income caps or beneficiary limits. Every household in the state qualifies.

Officials confirmed that the scheme doubles the earlier ₹5 lakh coverage under the revamped Mukh Mantri Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna. The Punjab Cabinet had approved the proposal in July 2025, with ₹778 crore allocated in the 2025–26 budget.

Over 2,500 Procedures Across 850+ Hospitals

Under the scheme, beneficiaries can avail treatment for more than 2,500 medical procedures. These include services in cardiology, oncology, neurology, orthopaedics and critical care.

The treatment will be available at over 850 empanelled government and private hospitals across Punjab. The cashless facility ensures that families do not face financial distress during medical emergencies.

Easy Registration and Card Distribution

To enrol, residents must present valid identification such as Aadhaar, voter ID or passport. The government has set up facilitation centres, Common Service Centres (CSCs), online portals and even door-to-door outreach through youth clubs to ensure swift registration.

Registration began immediately after the launch, and the government expects full coverage within months.

Political Promise and Social Message

Addressing the gathering, Mann said the scheme reflects Punjab’s commitment to accessible healthcare, drawing inspiration from Sikh teachings of service and equality. The rollout also fulfils a key election promise made by the Aam Aadmi Party.
