Rebuilding of infrastructure in several districts

The state government says that so far, more than 118 Schools of Eminence have been made better. The Kerala Story 2 Box Office Collection Day 5: Vipul Amrutal Shah’s The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond is struggling at the box office. Although the film saw a strong jump in earnings on Day 5, the overall trend remains weak. The sequel has not matched the powerful start of the 2023 film.

The Kerala Story Box Office Collection Day 5

According to trade reports by Sacnilk, The Kerala Story 2 earned Rs 4 crore on Tuesday. This was a 66 percent increase compared to Monday’s Rs 2.5 crore. However, the total domestic collection after five days stands at Rs 16.65 crore. While Tuesday’s growth looks positive, the bigger picture is still disappointing.

In comparison, The Kerala Story (2023) collected Rs 11.14 crore on its opening day. Its five-day total reached Rs 56.64 crore. The gap between the two films is huge.

The sequel opened slowly on February 27 with just Rs 75 lakh on Day 1. It picked up over the weekend, earning Rs 4.65 crore on Saturday and Rs 4.75 crore on Sunday. However, collections dropped sharply on Monday before rising again on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the overall occupancy was 19.01 percent. Night shows saw better footfall than morning and afternoon screenings.

Here is how key cities performed:

  • Mumbai: 27.25 percent occupancy with 590 shows
  • Jaipur: 25.75 percent occupancy with 104 shows
  • Pune: 23 percent occupancy with 312 shows
  • Delhi-NCR: 15.75 percent occupancy with 767 shows

Despite the jump in earnings, there is bad news. The number of shows has gone down. On Tuesday, 335 shows were reduced. The film is now running in 3,492 shows across India, compared to 3,827 shows on Monday. This fall in screen count shows lower demand in many regions.

The makers said the film was not meant to defame the state but to highlight criminal elements. Still, the debate may have affected audience response.

Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and produced by Vipul Amrutal Shah under Sunshine Pictures, The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond follows the stories of three young Hindu women. Surekha from Kochi is a UPSC aspirant who falls in love with a married journalist. Divya from Jodhpur wants freedom from her conservative family. Neha from Gwalior dreams of becoming a sportsperson. The film shows how they become victims of what it calls a “calculated agenda” involving grooming and forced conversion. The film stars Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia, Aishwarya Ojha, Sumit Gahlawat and Arjan Singh Aujla.

While Tuesday’s numbers gave the makers some hope, the reduced shows and low occupancy remain a concern. The coming days will decide whether The Kerala Story 2 can recover or continue to struggle at the box office.

Supply risks for fertiliser: how they affect farming

The Gulf is necessary for many fertilisers, including ammonia and urea. If they cannot source these materials, it will cost more for manufacturers to produce goods and may create additional pressure on the government to fund subsidies for farmers.

Farmers will then pay more for all their inputs. In turn, if the cost of fertiliser is increased due to excess demand, this will further increase the demand for produce in rural areas, where both monsoon behaviour and crop prices have already affected domestic agricultural supply chains.

When crude oil prices rise, India will need to use more dollars (U.S. currency) per unit of oil to pay for the amount being purchased. This will weaken the rupee, raising prices on all goods, including electronics and cooking oils. The drop of the rupee will result in growth of the current account deficit. The volatility has a direct impact on investor confidence and impacts stock prices; this drives capital from developing countries like India out of the market when there is uncertainty in global markets.

Ayesha Khan has openly discussed the backlash she faced after revealing that she shot the high-energy dance track “Shararat” while on her period for Aditya Dhar’s espionage thriller Dhurandhar.  Speaking at a Mojo Story summit, she admitted being surprised at how a normal, personal confession became viral meme material online.

Ayesha said, “It’s unfortunate that whatever you do or say these days, everything is a joke, dark humour, and fun. It’s a good thing that you can laugh about everything. But to laugh at anything and everything isn’t exactly fun. I probably didn’t even realise it because it’s so normal for me. Every month, we go through this cycle. We do so many things when we’re on periods.”

She recalled how social media reacted and said, “Me being on periods had suddenly become a national joke.”  Ayesha also noted that even the trending “peak detailing by Aditya Dhar” meme format was used to mock her. The actress added, “We really need to educate our sons and brothers. I’m sure the jokes were from men. It was really bad.” 

Despite the trolling, Ayesha made it clear she didn’t feel ashamed. “I’m a proud woman. I was really, really proud of whatever I did while being on periods. You wouldn’t be able to do that without being on periods. I did that during my periods.”

The actress also highlighted that many women continue to work at their best even while on their menstrual cycles. She said, “I’m sure there were 100 women in this room. There would be at least five or two women who’d be on periods right now. We just don’t realise it because we don’t make a big deal about it. So, if we don’t make a big deal out of it, you can chill.”

Ayesha admitted she feels fortunate not to have severe pain during her periods but confessed to feeling self-conscious on set. She explained, “Of course, I felt I wasn’t looking my best because I was bloated. It’s the song, so you want to look your best. You’re just so excited you want to look your best.”

“Shararat” was composed by Shashwat Sachdev and performed by Madhubanti Bagchi and Jasmine Sandlas (who co-wrote the lyrics). It is a lively track from Dhurandhar. Picturised on Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza during a grand wedding sequence, the song was carefully integrated into the story rather than being a standalone item number. Director Aditya Dhar specifically chose two performers instead of a single star like Tamannaah Bhatia to keep it narratively relevant.

About Dhurandhar And Its Sequel

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the 2025 spy-action thriller Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, also known as Hamza Ali Mazari, an undercover Indian agent infiltrating Karachi’s Lyari district to dismantle a terrorist-underworld nexus. The scale of the story required it to be split into two films, with over seven hours of combined footage.

The first film (released on December 5, 2025) became the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, earning over Rs 1300 crore globally despite its 214-minute runtime. Its sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is set for a pan-India release on 19 March 2026. Picking up immediately after the first film’s cliffhanger, it follows Hamza’s mission to eliminate Major Iqbal (played by Arjun Rampal) and features an expanded role for R Madhavan as the intelligence director.

Toxic Postponed: The highly anticipated Yash-starrer Toxic has been officially postponed from March 19 to June 4, 2026. While some industry insiders speculated that the delay was to avoid a clash with Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2, the producers said the shift was due to operational challenges and uncertainty in the Middle East.

Toxic Postponed: Yash And Makers Share New Release Date

A statement from the makers read, “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups is a film we conceptualised with the vision to create cinema for a global audience. Filmed in Kannada and English, it is built with the conviction to connect with viewers both at home and across the world. After years of dedicated labour, we were excited to share our film with you all on the 19th of March. However, the current uncertainty, especially in the Middle East, has created a situation that impacts our goal to reach and connect with the widest possible audience.”

The statement confirmed the new release date: “Toxic… will now be released in cinemas across the globe in English and Indian languages on 4th June 2026.”

While Toxic avoids a clash with Dhurandhar 2, the June 4 release may now compete with Varun Dhawan’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, set for June 5. Other late-June releases affected could include Shahid Kapoor’s Cocktail 2 and Akshay Kumar’s Welcome to The Jungle.

With strong overseas advance bookings, the film is expected to dominate the box office during its opening weekend. Its runtime of 3 hours and 55 minutes makes it one of Bollywood’s longest modern releases.
