Bhagwant Mann: As part of its intensified statewide anti-drug अभियान ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, the Punjab Police on Monday arrested 72 drug smugglers and recovered a large quantity of narcotics and drug money from their possession. The crackdown was carried out across multiple locations in the state under the supervision of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF).

During the operation, police teams seized 26.4 kg of heroin, 772 intoxicant tablets and capsules, and ₹12.17 lakh in drug money. Officials said the recoveries highlight the continued aggressive action being taken against drug trafficking networks operating in Punjab.

Over 48,000 Held So Far

With the latest arrests, the total number of drug smugglers apprehended has reached 48,331 within just 345 days, reflecting the scale and consistency of the campaign. Punjab Police stated that daily intelligence-based raids and coordinated operations are being conducted to dismantle the entire drug supply chain.

Alongside strict enforcement, the campaign also focuses on rehabilitation and social reform. As part of the de-addiction drive, 21 individuals were persuaded to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment on the same day, reinforcing the government’s dual approach of enforcement and recovery.

Senior officials reiterated that the Punjab Police, under the guidance of the Bhagwant Mann-led state government, remains fully committed to eradicating the drug menace, breaking trafficking networks, and ensuring a drug-free Punjab. The campaign continues to combine strong policing with community outreach and rehabilitation to address the problem holistically.

The cruise will be capable of accommodating up to 200 passengers at a time and will be equipped with modern amenities.

LDA Vice-Chairman Prathamesh Kumar recently conducted a site inspection to review the progress of the project. During the inspection, he directed officials to complete the construction within five months and ensure that the cruise becomes operational within the stipulated timeline.

The tourist cruise is expected to add a new dimension to Lucknow’s riverfront development and attract both local residents and visitors. Officials said the initiative aligns with the Uttar Pradesh government’s vision to promote tourism and enhance urban infrastructure while making better use of the Gomti riverfront.

Once operational, the Gomti river cruise is likely to emerge as a major attraction, contributing to economic activity, employment generation, and the overall cultural and tourism appeal of Lucknow.

The Telangana MLA remarked that India is of everyone and even the country’s Muslims have sacrificed; Akbaruddin commented that the biggest issue before India is unemployment but politicians make people fool by making the Hindu-Muslim issue the biggest concern for all.

Akbaruddin was elected pro-term speaker of the state legislative assembly of Telangana in 2023. His statement in 2012 when he remarked give 15 minutes to us (250 million Muslims) and we will teach a lesson to 1 billion Hindus is still remembered.

BJP’s Reaction

BJP MLA Ketki Singh commented on the statement of Akbaruddin Owaisi saying CM Yogi Adityanath is always prepared. Ketki added that Owaisi should first decide whether he wants to visit Uttar Pradesh or somewhere else, possibility hinting at hell. The BJP MLA added that Yogi Adityanath is a lion who does not get scared at all and Owaisi should think again and again if he wants to create a riot-like situation in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Interestingly, BJP has nothing to worry about AIMIM as all it could do is to cut the vote base of the Samajwadi Party and the Indian National Congress.

On Tuesday, Sonu Sood offered Rajpal a film role along with a small signing amount to help him financially. He clarified that this was not charity, but a professional gesture to show solidarity.

On his social media, the Fateh actor wrote, “Rajpal Yadav is a gifted actor who has given years of unforgettable work to our industry. Rajpal Yadav’s Legal Troubles

Rajpal’s legal issues began in 2010 when he took a Rs 5 crore loan from Delhi-based Murali Projects Pvt Ltd to fund his directorial debut, Ata Pata Laapata (2012). The film failed at the box office, triggering repayment problems and leading to seven bounced cheques.

In April 2018, a Magisterial Court convicted Rajpal and his wife, Radha, under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. The Sessions Court later upheld his six-month simple imprisonment sentence.

Despite several attempts to clear the debt, including depositing Rs 75 lakh in 2025, Rajpal could not pay the remaining amount. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma rejected last-minute pleas and ordered him to surrender. On February 5, 2026, Rajpal reported to Tihar Jail at 4 PM to serve his sentence.

Rajpal had earlier admitted, “Sir, kya karoon? Mere paas paise nahin hain. Aur koi upaay nahin dikhta. Sir, yahan hum sab akele hain. There are no friends. I have to deal with this crisis on my own.”

It was added that the CCTV footage clearly indicates that the vehicle’s driver was Shivam.

Reaction Of Accused’s Father

KK Mishra, who is the owner of Banshidhar Tobacco Company, remarked that he would take part in the inquiry.

Mritunjay Kumar, the lawyer of Shivam, claimed that his client was not driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. The lawyer added that Mohan, the driver, was driving it when the crash happened.

Dharmedra Singh Dharmu, another lawyer for Shivam, remarked his client has a medical problem and therefore being admitted to Delhi. Dharmu commented that the driver has filed a bail plea along with a request to release the vehicle that was impounded by the police. The lawyer added the car driver claimed that the car was hit by an autorickshaw after which the car hit the bike.

Case Registered Under BNS Sections

The complainant sustained severe injuries to the ankle, left leg and other body parts. The motorcycle of the complainant was also severely damaged; many pedestrians were also injured during the Kanpur Lamborghini accident. The case is being investigated by Sub-inspector Dinesh Kumar and registered under relevant sections of the BNS 2023, including sections 281, 125(a), 125(b) and 324(4).

Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 18: Border 2 is showing mixed signals at the Indian box office as it enters its third week. The Sunny Deol-led war sequel has already crossed the Rs 300 crore mark, but the pace has slowed noticeably. After strong weekend gains, weekday collections have dropped sharply, pointing to growing audience fatigue.

The film stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty and opened amid massive buzz. However, Day 18 turned out to be one of its weakest days so far. On its 3rd Monday, the film earned under Rs 2 crore. Even with this slowdown, Border 2 remains one of the highest-grossing films of the year so far.

The film had an excellent start in its opening week. Strong patriotism, sequel value and positive word of mouth helped collections rise sharply from Friday to Sunday. Although weekday numbers dipped after the opening weekend, Border 2 still wrapped up Week 1 with an impressive Rs 224.25 crore net in India. This gave the film a very strong foundation.

In Week 2, the momentum slowed down. Weekend collections again offered some relief, but weekdays saw heavy drops. The sharp fall on Monday clearly signalled the start of box office fatigue. By the end of the second week, the film had collected Rs 70.15 crore. This was a steep 68.72% drop compared to Week 1, confirming that the film had moved into a stabilisation phase.

The third week followed a familiar pattern. On Day 15 (3rd Friday), collections dropped to Rs 2.85 crore as footfalls reduced further. Day 16 showed a weekend jump, with earnings rising to Rs 5.25 crore. The upward trend continued on Day 17, as Sunday brought in Rs 7.25 crore, the best figure of the third week so far.

However, the momentum did not hold on weekdays. On Day 18 (3rd Monday), the film collected around Rs 1.85 crore. With this, Border 2 now stands at an India net total of approximately Rs 311.60 crore after 18 days.

Border 2 Box Office Collection: Can It Beat Dangal At India Box Office?

Despite slowing numbers, Border 2 has crossed several major milestones. It has already surpassed the lifetime India net collections of Dhoom 3, Sultan and Padmaavat. The film is now close to overtaking Hrithik Roshan’s War (Rs 318 crore) and Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 320 crore).

However, entering the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films remains difficult. The next big targets are Rajinikanth’s Jailer and Aamir Khan’s Dangal. At present, Border 2 needs another Rs 75.78 crore to match Dangal’s Rs 387.38 crore India net. Given the sharp weekday drops, this target now looks highly unlikely.

The challenge may increase further as the film faces fresh competition this Friday from Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri’s O Romeo. With fewer screens and falling footfalls, daily collections are expected to decline again.

About This Sunny Deol Starrer Sequel

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is a high-scale war drama and a sequel to the 1997 cult classic Border. The story revisits the 1971 Indo-Pak war, focusing on Operation Chengiz Khan and the events that led to the conflict. The film highlights bravery across the Indian Army, Air Force and Navy, with themes of sacrifice, duty and brotherhood.

Sunny Deol returns as Lt Col Fateh Singh Kaler and reportedly earned Rs 50 crore for the role. Varun Dhawan plays Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, Diljit Dosanjh appears as Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon and Ahan Shetty is seen as a naval officer. Produced by T-Series and JP Films, the film was made on a budget of Rs 275–300 crore, making it one of the most expensive Indian war films to date.

Shiva is your very Self, the purest Self, your innermost core. Shiva is one who is good or benevolent. The word ratri in Sanskrit means that which relieves you from three types of agony – ethereal, mental and material. It means that which gives rest, takes you into its lap and comforts you. At night everything becomes quiet and peaceful. The body gets tired and goes to sleep.

Shivaratri is a deep rest. When the mind rests in the lap of the Divine that is the only real rest. This brings rest to the three instruments: the body, mind and speech. ‘Shivratri’ literally means that night which infuses the Shiva tatva, or the transcendental principle, into the three instruments.

Samadhi is often referred to as Shiva Sayujya, the presence of Shiva, a concept that’s difficult to explain. Kabir Das calls it koti kalpa vishram – a billion years of rest consolidated in a moment. It is a state of deepest rest with alertness which brings freedom from all identities.

Like the mind, memory and intellect, Shiva is also a tatva (principle) in us. Shivaratri is when the Shiva tatva and the shakti (energy) become one. Shiva tatva is omnipresent. Realisation is to be conscious of it in its depth, yet to be awake to its non-dual glory in one’s awareness, in the depth of Samadhi. It is as if a wave is being skillfully conscious of the vastness of the ocean. The jagran in Shivratri is not just forcing oneself to be awake or singing bhajans aloud. It is about keeping awake and being inward and being consciously aware of the inner rest that sleep anyway brings every day. When you surpass a certain layer of sleep, the rest of samadhi or Shiva Sayujya happens. When you come out of it, you experience a certain pleasantness and reduced entropy, which brings an unusual freshness to the mind and senses.

In Shiva temples, Shiva is symbolically represented by the linga. The Divine is beyond these three genders, so the Divine is called Ekalinga, or one gender. What is that one gender? The Self, the Atma. Beyond the body, mind, intellect, and beyond likes and dislikes, that Self is only one. Linga means identification or sign. Only because of a certain sign, you identify something as male, female or neutral. Divinity is beyond the peripheral differences of gender.

Ekalinga is the Lord of the Self. On Shivaratri, it is the total energy which seeps into the whole universe. Shiv Shakti (the energy of Shiva) comes from all the lingas and merges on Shivaratri. Shiva has been associated with destruction; but transformation, change for the better, can only happen when something is destroyed. Shiva is the factor of transformation. ‘Shankara’ means one who gives peace and does good. ‘Sham’ means peace and good and ‘kara’ means one who does that.

The whole creation is the dance or play of Shiva (Shiva tandav), the dance of one consciousness, one seed, which manifested into a million species in the world. The whole world moving in an auspicious rhythm of innocence and intelligence, is Shiva. Shiva is the permanent and eternal source of energy – the one and only eternal state of Being. Shivaratri is auspicious because the environment is more alive. We chant Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti praying for three types of peace: peace to the body, mind and soul (adhyatmik, adhibhoutik and adidaivik). Only in the presence of all three can there be complete peace.

There is a story related to Shivratri, about the union of Shiva and Shakti. The primordial and dynamic energy is wedded to the transcendental. Shiva is the silent witness, the chidakasha and Shakti is chitti or chidvilasa, the energy that plays and displays in the infinite space. Shiva is the formless Being; Shakti is the manifestation in the field. This is the recognition of the dual aspect of matter and energy, prakriti and purusha, the dravya and guna – substance and its qualities. And, recognising the underlying non-dual nature of Brahman is Shivratri.

It is only wakefulness that brings out this knowledge in the consciousness and Shivratri is the night to celebrate the wakefulness of one universal consciousness without falling into the unconscious sleep state. Breaking the pattern of unconscious sleep gives you a glimpse that you are not a mechanical apparatus but a legend in the creation. To recognise the Shiva tatva, you have to be awake.
