Governor’s yatra, with political patrons of drug traffickers, mere showmanship: Kuldeep Dhaliwal

Kuldeep Dhaliwal

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Chief Spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Tuesday raised serious questions over the so-called anti-drug yatra initiated by Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, saying that while the AAP government has been consistently leading the fight against drugs across the state, the Governor’s parallel yatra sends a deeply troubling message about who he is choosing to stand with.

Addressing a press conference at the AAP office, Punjab Chief Spokesperson Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said, “Under the guidance of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP government has been continuously carrying out anti-drug yatras across Punjab. These yatras are not symbolic; they are part of a sustained, on-ground battle against drugs. However, rattled by the success of our government’s efforts, the Governor has now started his own separate yatra, and both the method adopted and the people involved in it raise several serious questions.”

Making it clear that the AAP does not oppose any genuine effort against drugs, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said, “We want every individual, every organisation, and every institution to become part of the fight against drugs. But it is deeply condemnable that the Governor is walking alongside those very people who are themselves responsible for spreading drugs in Punjab.”

Taking strong exception to the composition of the yatra, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said, “A yatra in which Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal and BJP leader Ashwani Sharma are seated together cannot be aimed at eradicating drugs. Such a spectacle does not inspire confidence; instead, it appears to be an exercise that shields criminals rather than confronting them.”

He further said that the Governor should have reflected on Punjab’s recent history before embarking on such a yatra. “Before starting this yatra, the Governor should have understood who brought the so-called ‘sixth river’ of drugs to the land of five rivers. From 2007 to 2017, when these forces were in power, drugs flourished openly in Punjab. Today, the same people are sharing the stage with the Governor. These are the very people who, while in power, provided shelter and protection to drug traffickers,” he said.

Expressing concern over the moral message being sent out, the AAP leader said, “The people of Punjab today want to know with what face those forces that destroyed the youth of Punjab are taking out an anti-drug yatra. By standing with them, the Governor is encouraging the very forces that pushed Punjab’s future into darkness.”

Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that if the Governor was truly serious about eliminating drugs, he should have chosen a very different path. “If the Governor genuinely wants to fight drugs, he should walk alongside those people and organisations who have been honestly fighting this menace at the grassroots level for many years. Since the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government, drugs have been our biggest challenge, and for the past four years we have been fighting a decisive and sustained battle against it.”

Concluding, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that the participation of individuals who ruined Punjab in the Governor’s yatra has deeply disappointed the people of the state. “The people of Punjab are watching everything closely. They know who is fighting against drugs and who is standing with those who sell drugs. The AAP government will continue its campaign with full commitment, but the people of Punjab will never support any yatra carried out in collaboration with the political patrons of drug traffickers,” he said.

MM Naravane Breaks Silence on His Yet To Be Published Book, Will It Increase Tension For Rahul Gandhi & Co?

Former Indian Army chief General MM Naravane has publicly addressed the controversy surrounding his unpublished memoir Four Stars of Destiny, stating that the book has not yet been released and remains pending official clearance. On February 10, 2026, Naravane reshared a clarification issued by Penguin Random House India on X, confirming that no official copies of the book have been published or circulated.

The intervention comes amid an escalating political storm involving Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who recently cited alleged excerpts from the book during a protest outside Parliament.

Book Awaiting Defence Ministry Clearance

According to the publisher, Four Stars of Destiny has been awaiting Ministry of Defence (MoD) approval for over a year, as required under protocol for memoirs written by senior military officials. The book chronicles Naravane’s tenure as Army Chief, including the 2020 India-China military standoff in eastern Ladakh.

One reported passage describes a conversation in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, allegedly authorised the Army to respond flexibly to Chinese actions. These claims have become central to the current political controversy.

Rahul Gandhi’s Display Sparks Political Storm

In early February 2026, Rahul Gandhi displayed what he claimed was a printed copy of Naravane’s memoir outside Parliament, quoting passages that suggested the former Army chief felt “abandoned” by the political leadership during the Ladakh crisis. Gandhi alleged that the Prime Minister had failed to fulfil his responsibility, triggering heated protests, repeated Lok Sabha adjournments, and the suspension of several opposition MPs.

However, Penguin Random House India categorically stated that no physical or digital copies of the book had been released and that any versions in circulation were unauthorised and illegal.

Bangladesh News: Not Again! Hindu Rice Trader Sushen Chandra Sarkar Murdered in Brutal Shop Attack Ahead of Polls, Yunus Govt Fails to Protect

Bangladesh News: A Hindu rice trader, Sushen Chandra Sarkar (62), was brutally murdered inside his shop in Bangladesh’s Mymensingh district on the night of February 9, 2026, just three days before the country’s national parliamentary elections scheduled for February 12. The killing has triggered widespread concern over minority safety amid an already tense political climate.

Brutal Attack Inside the Shop

According to police, Sarkar was attacked around 11 pm at his rice business, Bhai Bhai Enterprise, located in Bogar Bazar under Trishal upazila. Assailants allegedly stabbed him multiple times with sharp weapons before locking the shop’s shutter from outside and fleeing the scene. Investigators believe cash may have been stolen during the attack.

Family members discovered Sarkar’s body the next morning, lying in a pool of blood.

Protests and Fear Among Local Traders

Following the murder, local traders shut down shops in Bogar Bazar as a mark of protest and mourning. Members of the Hindu community expressed fear and anger, stating that the incident has heightened anxiety among minorities already feeling vulnerable ahead of the elections.

Investigation and Possible Motives

Police officials, led by Trishal police station chief Muhammad Firoz Hossain, said investigations are ongoing. Authorities are examining multiple angles, including robbery, personal enmity, and communal motivation. Forensic teams have collected evidence from the scene, though no arrests have been reported so far.

Rising Communal Violence Concerns

Bangladesh News: The killing comes amid reports of over 2,000 incidents of violence targeting religious minorities since August 2024, following political upheaval and the removal of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Rights groups have repeatedly warned of deteriorating security conditions for minorities.

Under interim leader Muhammad Yunus, the government has not issued a specific statement on Sarkar’s murder, drawing criticism from opposition figures and rights activists. The incident echoes a December 2025 murder of another Hindu man in the same district, which required intervention by elite security forces.

Uttar Pradesh’s Biggest Infrastructure Project: Ganga Expressway to Transform Connectivity

CM Yogi Adityanath

The Ganga Expressway, Uttar Pradesh’s largest infrastructure project, is set to redefine road connectivity in the state. Stretching approximately 594 km, the expressway will connect Meerut to Prayagraj, significantly reducing travel time and boosting economic activity across the region.

Uttar Pradesh’s Biggest Infrastructure Project

The 6-lane access-controlled expressway, which can be expanded to 8 lanes in the future, will pass through 12 districts of Uttar Pradesh. With a speed limit of around 120 km/h, the project is expected to cut travel time between western and eastern UP by nearly half, making long-distance travel faster and more efficient.

Ganga Expressway to Transform Connectivity

One of the key highlights of the Ganga Expressway is the inclusion of a defence airstrip, enhancing the state’s strategic and security capabilities. This feature adds national importance to the project, making it useful not only for civilian transport but also for emergency and defence operations.

Officials said the expressway will act as a growth corridor, opening new avenues for industrial development, logistics, tourism, and investment. Improved connectivity is expected to generate large-scale employment opportunities during construction as well as after completion through allied sectors.

The Ganga Expressway will also improve access to major religious and cultural destinations, including Prayagraj, strengthening tourism and pilgrimage movement within the state. Better road infrastructure is likely to benefit farmers, traders, and small businesses by reducing transportation costs.

Overall, the project is being seen as a game-changer for Uttar Pradesh, giving a major push to development, connectivity, and economic growth, while reinforcing the state’s position as an emerging infrastructure hub in India.

Bhagwant Mann: ₹10 Lakh Free Treatment Under CM Health Scheme Proves a Lifeline for the Poor in Punjab

The Chief Minister Health Scheme launched by the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government is emerging as a major relief for economically weaker sections, offering free medical treatment worth up to ₹10 lakh. The scheme has significantly reduced the financial burden on poor families, ensuring that quality healthcare is accessible without worry or hardship.

Bhagwant Mann: ₹10 Lakh Free Treatment Under CM Health Scheme Proves a Lifeline for the Poor in Punjab

Under the AAP Ka Sehat Card initiative, beneficiaries can avail themselves of cashless treatment at empanelled hospitals across the state. The scheme covers a wide range of serious and critical illnesses, allowing patients to focus on recovery rather than the cost of treatment or administrative hassles.

A heartwarming moment was witnessed when an elderly beneficiary expressed deep gratitude and heartfelt blessings for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, calling the health card a true blessing in his life. He said the scheme removed the fear of medical expenses and gave dignity and security to the poor during times of illness.

Officials said the scheme has already helped thousands of families who earlier struggled to afford expensive treatments. By eliminating out-of-pocket expenses, the government aims to prevent families from falling into debt due to health emergencies.

Punjab government has emphasized that healthcare is a basic right

The Punjab government has emphasized that healthcare is a basic right, not a privilege, and continues to expand the reach of the CM Health Scheme to ensure no eligible citizen is left out. Awareness drives are also being conducted to help people understand the benefits and enrollment process.

With initiatives like the ₹10 lakh health cover, the Mann government is strengthening Punjab’s public healthcare system and moving closer to its goal of inclusive, affordable, and people-centric healthcare for all.

Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda has publicly expressed his displeasure with filmmaker Karan Johar over the film Govinda Naam Mera. The actor said he was unhappy that a movie was made using his name and felt it lacked sensitivity. Govinda shared his views while speaking to news agency ANI, and his remarks have since gone viral on social media.

The actor said he felt uncomfortable seeing a film titled after his name, especially when its storyline touched on themes he did not agree with. Reacting to the situation, Govinda said, “Kisi ne mere naam se picture bana di.. shaayad Govinda Mera Naam… I don’t know… mujhe lagta hai Karan Johar ki thi (Someone made a film on my name, Govinda Naam Mera. I think it was made by Karan Johar).”

Govinda Naam Mera was released in 2022 and was produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The film premiered directly on Disney+ Hotstar and featured Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles.

Govinda On Govinda Naam Mera And Why He Is UPSET

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, the film revolves around a love triangle. Vicky Kaushal plays Govinda Waghmare, a struggling choreographer caught between his wife Gauri (played by Bhumi Pednekar) and his girlfriend Suku (played by Kiara Advani). The story mixes humour with relationship conflicts and suspense.

However, Govinda was not impressed by the concept. He pointed out that the film focuses on misunderstandings between a husband, wife and girlfriend. According to him, such themes should be handled carefully. While he acknowledged that humour has its place in cinema, he stressed that respect should not be compromised.

The actor also urged filmmakers not to drag his personal life into their creative choices. Making an emotional appeal, Govinda said, “I promise, no misbehave, please. I request. With folded hands. Mazak har jagah par har tarah se acha nahi lagta hai (I am not in the position to take this lightly).”

Watch the video below

The video of Govinda’s comments was shared by ANI on Instagram and quickly sparked debate online. Social media users had mixed reactions. One user supported the actor and commented, “Bahut badhiya jawab diya aapne.” Another questioned, “Govinda naam isne trademark kar liya hai kya ?”

A third user said, “He was sleeping from 4 yrs after release.”

One more joked, “Tujko mirchi lagi tho may kya karu.”

As of now, Karan Johar has not responded to Govinda’s statements or issued any clarification.

Actor’s Personal Life

Away from the controversy, Govinda’s personal life has also been under the spotlight. He married Sunita in 1987, and the couple has two children, Tina Ahuja and Yashvardan Ahuja. In 2024, the actor was hospitalised after suffering a bullet injury in his leg caused by his revolver.

Later, rumours about Govinda and Sunita heading for divorce made headlines. However, the couple strongly denied the claims. Sunita stated clearly that no one could separate them, putting an end to the speculation.

Delhi Set to Get 7,000 Public EV Charging Points by 2026

Delhi is set to significantly strengthen its electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, with plans to install 7,000 public EV charging points by 2026, according to a report by Hindustan Times. The move is aimed at accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles and supporting the city’s transition towards cleaner and more sustainable mobility.

Delhi Set to Get 7,000 Public EV Charging Points by 2026

Officials said the expansion of charging infrastructure will play a crucial role in reducing range anxiety among EV users and encouraging more people to switch from conventional fuel-powered vehicles to electric alternatives. The charging points will be installed across key public locations, including residential areas, commercial hubs, parking lots, and major transit corridors.

The initiative aligns with the Delhi EV Policy, which focuses on cutting vehicular pollution and improving air quality in the national capital. With transport being one of the largest contributors to air pollution in Delhi, the government sees EV adoption as a long-term solution to tackle environmental challenges.

Authorities are also working on ensuring that the charging network is accessible

Authorities are also working on ensuring that the charging network is accessible, affordable, and evenly distributed across the city. Both fast-charging and slow-charging stations are expected to be part of the rollout to cater to different categories of electric vehicles, including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and cars.

Experts believe that the addition of 7,000 charging points will not only support private EV owners but also boost electric public transport and commercial fleets, such as e-cabs and delivery vehicles. This is expected to further reduce carbon emissions and fuel dependency.

With this major infrastructure push, Delhi aims to position itself as a leading city in electric mobility in India, setting an example for other states to follow in the journey towards sustainable urban transport.

Nitesh Rane: “Salman Khan More Hindu Than Uddhav.. Raj Is Pleasing His Pakistani Abba”, Minister Of Ports Development Sparks Fury

Nitesh Rane: The Minister of Ports Development of Maharashtra has sparked big controversy by claiming that Bollywood actor Salman Khan demonstrates stronger Hindu values than Shiv Sena (Uddhav Bal Thackeray) Supremo Uddhav Thackeray. The remarks of Nitesh Rane followed the presence of Salman at the centenary celebrations of the Mohan Bhagwat led Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Mumbai.

Rane remarked that Uddhav does not have the courage to call Bal Thackeray, his own father, as the Hindu Hriday Samrat (the King of Hindu hearts) before Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi. Rane also commented that Uddhav could have possibly completed a PhD in his rambling speeches.

Nitesh Rane, the MP from Kankavli constituency in Sindhudurg district, previously made fun of Uddhav Thackeray after the win of NDA in the recently concluded Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) 2026 elections.

Nitesh Rane Blasts Raj Thackeray

In a post on X, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray commented that eminent personalities who attended the two-day lecture series that was themed ‘100 Years of Sangh Journey: New Horizons’ attended not because of affection for Bhagwat but because of the NDA government.

Rane while responding to the remarks of Raj Thackeray commented that it is surprising to find out that both Uddhav and Raj stay silent when a Mumbai AIMIM contractor made controversial remarks after an electoral win. Nitesh Rane also commented that Raj is probably trying to please his Abba (father) in Pakistan by maintaining silence during the Mullah Maulvi.

Sanjay Raut Questions RSS

Sanjay Raut, a Shiv Sena UBT Rajya Sabha MP, criticized the participation of Salman Khan saying he was probably invited to draw crowds because of his immense popularity. Raut questioned whether the RSS would have its doors open for other members of the Muslim community in the future.

Ghooskhor Pandat Row: Netflix Retreats Amid Outrage, Promises Title Change Of Manoj Bajpayee Starrer Before Delhi High Court

Netflix To Change Title of Manoj Bajpayee starrer Ghooskhor Pandat

Netflix has taken a step back amid rising outrage over Ghooskhor Pandat, the upcoming Manoj Bajpayee-starrer, by assuring the Delhi High Court that the film’s title will be changed. The streaming platform informed the court that the producers had taken a “conscious decision” to rename the project after concerns were raised that the original title allegedly hurt the sentiments of the Brahmin community.

Netflix To Change Ghooskhor Pandat Title

The controversy began soon after Ghooskhor Pandat was announced last week at Netflix’s slate launch event in Mumbai. Initially, the project drew attention because of its lead actor Manoj Bajpayee and director Neeraj Pandey. However, the focus quickly shifted as many viewers and community groups objected to the wording of the title, calling it offensive and insensitive. As criticism grew online, FIRs were filed and protests were reported from several parts of the country.

According to IANS, Netflix has told Delhi High Court that all promotional material related to the film has already been taken down from social media. The court was hearing a plea seeking a stay on the film’s release on the OTT platform. After Netflix’s assurance about changing the title, the Delhi High Court disposed of the petition.

The plea was filed by Mahender Chaturvedi, who alleged that the film’s title and its promotional content were defamatory and communally sensitive. He argued that the wording could disturb social harmony and unfairly target a specific community.

Following the announcement, protests erupted in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Members of Brahmin organisations demanded a ban on the project and accused the makers of targeting their community. In Uttar Pradesh, an FIR was registered, and reports said effigies of the filmmakers and actor Manoj Bajpayee were burnt at several locations.

The issue soon took a political turn as well. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak strongly criticised the film industry while speaking to the press on Friday. He said the way Indian culture, especially the Brahmin community, was being portrayed was “highly reprehensible”. He added that films using such language should not be released and stressed that words used in a film’s title should not be linked to a community that has contributed significantly to the nation.

Manoj Bajpayee And Makers’ Response To Backlash

Amid the growing backlash, Manoj Bajpayee addressed the issue on social media. He acknowledged that some people were hurt and said he respected their feelings. The actor clarified that the project was never meant to target any community. In a post on his official X handle, Manoj wrote, “When something you are part of causes hurt to some people, it makes you pause and listen.” He also explained that his role focused on portraying a flawed individual and his journey of self-realisation.

Director Neeraj Pandey also issued a clarification, stating that the series is entirely fictional. He stressed that the term used in the title referred only to a fictional character and not to any caste or religious group. The makers said the promotional material was withdrawn voluntarily, even before any official direction was issued.

Meanwhile, BJP claimed that Netflix removed the promotional content following a directive from the Centre after the backlash. However, Netflix told the court that the decision to change the title was proactive and aimed at avoiding any misunderstanding about the project’s intent.

With a new title now promised, Netflix hopes the controversy around Ghooskhor Pandat will settle. Whether the rebranded project will win back public trust remains to be seen.

Under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh has witnessed a significant boost in investment across key sectors such as electronics, defence manufacturing, textiles, and food processing. The state government’s focused industrial policies and investor-friendly environment have helped strengthen confidence among domestic and global investors.

CM Yogi Adityanath’s Leadership Accelerates Industrial Growth in Uttar Pradesh

As per the Uttar Pradesh Economic Review (2025–26), the state disbursed nearly ₹4,000 crore as incentive support in 2025 under various industrial schemes. This financial backing has played a crucial role in encouraging large-scale investments and supporting existing industries to expand their operations within the state.

The development of industrial corridors and expressway-based infrastructure has further enhanced Uttar Pradesh’s attractiveness as an investment destination. World-class connectivity through expressways, logistics hubs, and industrial clusters has reduced operational costs and improved ease of doing business, giving industries a competitive edge.

In addition, the state government has taken several reforms to simplify industrial approvals and clearances, ensuring time-bound permissions through single-window systems. These reforms have reduced procedural delays and made it easier for investors to start and expand businesses in Uttar Pradesh.

Special emphasis has also been laid on skill development and workforce training to meet the growing demands of emerging industries. Through collaboration with industrial units and training institutions, the government aims to prepare a skilled talent pool that supports long-term industrial sustainability and employment generation.

Officials said that focused growth in sectors like electronics and defence production aligns with the national vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, while expansion in textiles and food processing is generating large-scale employment opportunities, especially in semi-urban and rural areas.

Developed Uttar Pradesh 2047

With a clear roadmap under the vision of “Developed Uttar Pradesh 2047”, the double-engine government continues to drive inclusive and sustainable industrial development. The state’s consistent policy support, robust infrastructure, and strong governance are positioning Uttar Pradesh as one of India’s leading engines of economic growth.

Anurag Dhanda Hails Bhagwant Mann Government’s New Initiative for Punjab Farmers

Congress leader Anurag Dhanda has highlighted a new initiative of the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government aimed at benefiting farmers across the state. The initiative focuses on groundwater conservation and increasing farmers’ income by promoting groundnut cultivation along with traditional crops.

Anurag Dhanda Hails Bhagwant Mann Government’s New Initiative for Punjab Farmers

According to Dhanda, the Punjab government is encouraging farmers to diversify crops by adopting groundnut farming, which requires comparatively less water and helps in reducing the pressure on rapidly depleting groundwater resources. The move is seen as an important step towards sustainable agriculture in the state.

The initiative aligns with the state government’s broader vision

Officials say that promoting groundnut cultivation will not only support environmental conservation but also open up new income avenues for farmers by reducing input costs and improving crop profitability. The initiative aligns with the state government’s broader vision of moving away from water-intensive cropping patterns.

The policy is also expected to help farmers tackle challenges related to climate change and soil health, while strengthening Punjab’s agricultural economy. By combining traditional farming practices with crop diversification, the Mann government aims to create a more resilient and farmer-friendly agricultural system.

In addition, agricultural experts associated with the initiative said that groundnut cultivation can play a significant role in improving soil health, as it helps in nitrogen fixation and reduces the need for excessive chemical fertilizers. This, in turn, lowers input costs for farmers and promotes more eco-friendly farming practices.

The Punjab government is also expected to provide technical guidance, quality seeds, and market linkage support to farmers willing to adopt groundnut cultivation. Officials said awareness programmes and field demonstrations will be conducted to help farmers understand best practices and maximize yield.

CM Yogi Adityanath Firm On His Stand Of Not Allowing Babri Masjid Construction, Pledges Focus On Ram Mandir

CM Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Ayodhya CM Yogi Adityanath has reaffirmed his position about the Babri Masjid at Ayodhya. CM Yogi made clear that there will be no permission for the redevelopment of Babri Masjid; rather, the administration will continue to work towards developing and constructing Ram Mandir, which has been a significant location in Indian socio-political history.

No Room for Babri Masjid Reconstruction

Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya City Chief Minister Yogi Adithyanath has restated an unyielding stand on the controversial monument Babri Masjid located in Ayodhya regarding whether it is planned to be built again. There will be no allowance for rebuilding the babri masjid, CM Yogi stated. The focus of administration will be strictly on the Ram Mandir, an important monument in India’s socio-political dialogue.

Ram Mandir Construction as Top Priority

The Ram Mandir project, according to Yogi Adityanath’s statement, will be completed by the government with complete dedication. The temple is not just a place of worship; it is seen as both an important part of India’s cultural heritage and as a representation of devotion, which many people in India will find attractive. The officials involved in constructing the Ram Mandir have been instructed to get it done quickly while being open and responsible with managing their resources.

Promises Development Alongside Spiritual Focus

The development of Ayodhya and the construction of the temple will go forward together, as stated by the CM. Infrastructure enhancements and improvements to pilgrim facilities as well as better civic infrastructure will all be part of the City Development Plan. “We hope to create a spiritual/cultural hub for future generations,” he said.

Political Implications

The content of CM Yogi’s statement should connect with the voter base by reaffirming the government’s view on a sensitive matter of Indian political nature. This will give clarity to discussions on the various aspects relating to heritage, religion and development of various regions within Uttar Pradesh.
