The Noida Airport would be the first airport in the country to host the first MRO Hub of Akasa Air. Akasa has partnered with Noida Airport to establish Akasa’s first maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in India to maintain operational safety and efficiency.

Seamless 4G & 5G Connectivity

A key milestone in the digital infrastructure journey of India has been announced with the launch of seamless 4G and 5G connectivity at the Jewar Airport. The development happened in partnership with top telecom service providers of India such as Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone Idea.

PM Modi would launch the Phase 1 of the airport tomorrow. Once fully developed, the Noida International Airport would feature 6 runways, placing it among one of the world’s largest aviation facilities. Unlike legacy airports that evolve incrementally, the Noida Airport is a Greenfield project that allows planners to design out-of-the-box systems from passenger movement to cargo logistics with efficiency and expansion in mind.

Design elements of the Noida Airport include energy-efficient buildings, renewable power integration, water conservation systems and waste management strategies.

The spy thriller hit theatres on March 19, 2026, and quickly became a big success. It crossed the Rs 1000-crore mark worldwide within its first week. But now, the focus has shifted to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and its decision to partially mute abusive words in the film.

Deepak Tijori Mocks CBFC Over Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge Censorship

Actor-filmmaker Deepak Tijori shared his views on Instagram and said he does not understand the logic behind muting only parts of abusive words. According to him, some words are fully muted while others are only partly edited, which feels inconsistent.

He explained that he might be missing something, but the decision does not make sense to him. The actor questioned why only half the abuses are muted while others are left unchanged. He also said that if the film is already certified ‘A’, which means it is meant only for adults, then such selective muting becomes confusing.

The actor further pointed out a bigger concern. He said that the same film usually releases on OTT platforms within a few months without any cuts. In that case, the full version (including all the abuses) becomes easily accessible at home, even to kids and younger viewers.

He questioned the purpose of muting content in theatres for adults when the same content is later available online without restrictions. He suggested that the approach may not be practical and that the logic behind it is hard to understand.

The controversy began after the CBFC approved Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge with an ‘A’ certificate but asked for 21 changes. These included reducing some violent scenes and muting abusive words. However, the way the muting was done has raised concerns.

Viewers noticed that some words were fully muted while others were only partially cut. This uneven editing has become a major talking point. Reports also suggest that the Indian version of the film is about six minutes shorter than the original. On the other hand, the overseas version is said to be mostly uncut.

The key question many are asking is, if a film is meant only for adults, why censor it partially? The issue becomes even more relevant when the same film later releases on OTT platforms without such edits.

Gautam Buddh Nagar Police remarked that no casualties have been reported as of now. The store lies under the jurisdiction of Noida Sector 49 Police Station. Gautam Buddh Nagar Police commented that a big tragedy was averted due to immediate action. Police added that no casualties have been reported so far.

Pradeep Kumar, the Chief Fire Officer of Gautam Buddh Nagar remarked that 15 fire tenders were immediately rushed to the fire spot and fire was control in quick time.

In February, 20 vehicles were gutted in a Sector 18’s basement parking because of a scooter battery explosion. In March, a kitchen fire spread via AC ducts, injuring five, in a Noida Extension residential-commercial complex in Sector 150. In Mid-March, a Phase 2 warehouse storing electronics erupted, destroying goods worth ₹50 crore.

The fire accidents of Noida scream for proactive action and comprehensive strategy followed by impeccable execution and till then, every short circuit risks the next big tragedy.

US Israel Iran War: The Union Government has slashed excise duties for diesel, petrol and aviation turbine fuel amid growing fears of a spike in fuel prices because of the ongoing US Israel Iran war.

US Israel Iran War-Petrol And Diesel Excise Duty Cuts

On Friday, the Narendra Modi led NDA government announced that excise duties for diesel and petrol have been slashed by Rs. 10 per litre each. This brings the centre-imposed taxes down to zero for diesel and Rs. 3 per litre of petrol.

The government also announced a new special additional excise duty on aviation turbine fuel with exemptions reducing the rate to Rs. 29.5 per litre.

Impact On Common Man-Would You Wallet Get A Breather?

The excise cuts are NOT likely to translate into reduced prices for the common man at fuel stations. This is primarily because the cuts would primarily be absorbed by oil marketing companies (OMCs) so they could offset heavy losses on pump sales.

Presently, OMCs are losing Rs. 48.8 per litre of diesel or petrol sold, in large partly because of the increase in the prices of Brent crude.

The excise duty cuts were announced after Nayara Energy, India’s largest private fuel retailer, increased diesel and petrol prices by Rs. 3 and Rs. 5.3 per litre. Nayara is backed by Russian enterprise Rosneft and Kesani Enterprises and has a market share of 8.4 percent.

Indian Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri commented that international crude prices have gone from $70 to $122 per barrel. Puri added prices have increased by 50 percent in African countries, 30 percent in North American countries, 20 percent in Europe and 30 to 50 percent in South East Asian countries.

Puri also remarked that the NDA government had two choices – either to increase prices significantly or bear the brunt on its finances so the common man stays protected from the volatility of the global markets.

Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora on Thursday presented the four-year report card of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann during a nukkad meeting in Sarabha Nagar.

Addressing the gathering, Sanjeev Arora said that Punjab is progressing towards a rapid growth rate and will soon transform into a vibrant Rangla Punjab. He claimed that the state has witnessed historic and unprecedented development in the last four years, something that was never imagined and had not happened in the previous 70 years.

Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora also reiterated that Punjab has been awarded by the Government of India as the number-1 state in road safety, education, and ease of doing business. He emphasised that this is the first time in the history of Punjab that the state has achieved such recognition in these key sectors. He added that everyone in the country is now talking about how Punjab is marching towards becoming the number one state in the country, thanks to the extraordinary efforts of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Sanjeev Arora stated that every household in Punjab is receiving 300 units of free electricity per month for last four years. He further informed that 75 percent of the farmers are getting uninterrupted power supply in the morning, which will be increased to 95 percent during the upcoming paddy season. He further informed that the services of PSPCL have been made more efficient and effective, resulting in more profits, fewer losses, and better uninterrupted power supply. He also mentioned that the Punjab government has launched a universal cashless health insurance scheme of up to Rs 10 lakh for every Punjabi, making the state the first in the country to implement such a comprehensive programme.

He announced that women in Punjab will soon start receiving financial assistance of Rs 1000 and Rs 1500 per month as announced by Chief Minister of Punjab S. Bhagwant Singh Mann. He added that the state’s roads will soon be free of garbage and will have the best road infrastructure in the country

Marking four years of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the party on Wednesday launched a massive statewide outreach campaign titled “Shandaar 4 Saal, Bhagwant Mann de Naal,” taking its governance record directly to the people across villages and urban wards.

Ministers, MLAs and constituency in-charges fanned out across nearly 1,000 villages and wards in a single day, engaging with citizens and highlighting key achievements of the Punjab Government. The campaign witnessed strong public participation, with people expressing satisfaction over governance and welfare delivery under CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.

Interacting with people in Sham Chaurasi, Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh stated, “Today, Punjab’s government schools are being discussed across the country. Even surveys conducted by the Government of India have acknowledged that Punjab’s schools have become number one. The transparent recruitment of more than 28,000 teachers and their training in Finland and Singapore have resulted in Punjab’s students now clearing competitive exams like JEE and NEET.”

Highlighting power sector reforms in Ludhiana West, Power Minister Sanjeev Arora said, “The Mann government has created history by making electricity bills zero for 90% of households in Punjab. Earlier, people feared high bills, but today they are getting major relief along with 24-hour uninterrupted power supply.”

Speaking in Bhoa, Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak underscored the Punjab Government’s campaign against drugs, stating, “The Bhagwant Mann government has launched a decisive war against drugs, under which more than 92,000 smugglers have been put behind bars. Along with this, 65,000 government jobs have been provided purely on merit, without any bribery or recommendation.”

In Jandiala, Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO highlighted healthcare transformation, stating, “985 Aam Aadmi Clinics are successfully functioning in Punjab, where more than 5 crore people have received free treatment. Now, every family is getting up to ₹10 lakh of free cashless treatment, ensuring that the poor no longer need to take loans for medical care.”

Addressing people in Malout, Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur spoke about women-centric initiatives, stating, “Under the ‘Mawan-Dhian Satkar Yojana,’ every woman will receive ₹1,000 per month and women from SC communities will receive ₹1,500 per month starting from Baisakhi.
