Patna police have registered a FIR against popular educator and YouTuber Khan Sir, as Faisal Khan is popularly known, in connection with a firing incident at his coaching institute in the Bihar capital. The development has fuelled speculation that the celebrated teacher could be arrested in the coming days.

Arrest rumour intensifies as FIR lodged

According to reports, the FIR pertains to a shooting incident that took place near Khan Sir coaching centre in Patna’s Kadamkuan area. A police investigation has been launched into the matter and media reports suggest that arrest cannot be ruled out as the investigation progresses. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the incident and the alleged role of the persons named in the FIR.

The case grabbed huge public attention due to Khan Sir’s massive following among students and competitive exam aspirants across India. He’s one of the country’s most recognisable education influencers thanks to his coaching videos and low-cost teaching model.

Khan Sir blames rivals

Khan Sir had publicly alleged that the attack was carried out by rival coaching centres before the FIR was registered. He said the violence could have been caused by the cut-throat competition in the lucrative coaching industry here, and that his efforts to provide affordable education had upset some people.

He said the attack was intended to intimidate him and derail his educational mission. However, police are continuing their investigation and have not publicly supported these claims.

Fame and Influence and Scrutiny

The controversy has rekindled debate over whether prominent public figures face increased scrutiny when criminal allegations emerge. Supporters say that no conclusions should be drawn until the investigation is over, but critics say the law must take its course, no matter how popular it is.

In view of widespread complaints regarding technical issues on its post-result services portal, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for Class 12 students to apply for verification of marks and revaluation. The move comes after thousands of students flooded the system with complaints that they had problems logging onto the website, processing payments and submitting applications by the original deadline.

Students encounter login and payment glitches

In the past few days, students and parents have raised concerns over repeated portal crashes, login failures and payment gateway errors. Many said they could not complete the application process even after multiple attempts. The technical glitches created a panic among the students who wanted re-evaluation of their answer scripts, especially those who wanted admission to competitive colleges and universities.

“The board knew about the difficulties and decided to extend the application window so that no student is denied the chance to avail post result services due to technical issues.

Traffic congestion and cyber attack attempts

Since the re-evaluation process began, there has been an unprecedented rush of traffic on the CBSE portal. The portal was also under attack by several cyberattack attempts even as the board received over 70,000 applications, reports said. But officials said the system was still intact and still working.

Earlier, the board had deferred the opening of the verification and re-evaluation portal to upgrade its infrastructure and address technical issues raised by students.

Student Aid

The extension should be a relief for thousands of affected students who had been worried about missing the deadline. According to education experts, the extra time will lead to a fairer process and less stress in the crucial admission season. Meanwhile, the CBSE has asked the candidates to keep a watch on official notifications and fill out the applications well in advance of the revised deadline.

The massive turnout at Jantar Mantar has put the spotlight firmly on Abhijeet Dipke and his Cockroach Janta Party. After building a strong following through viral videos and social media campaigns, Dipke now faces the ultimate test can online popularity be transformed into real-world political influence?

Massive Crowd At Jantar Mantar Raises Eyebrows

What started as a social media movement appears to be making its presence felt on the ground. Hundreds of supporters gathered at Jantar Mantar, turning the protest into a major talking point. The event has sparked discussions about whether the Cockroach Janta Party is emerging as a genuine grassroots movement or simply benefiting from temporary online buzz.

From Viral Content To Street Mobilisation

Abhijeet Dipke’s rise has been fueled by his unconventional style, sharp political commentary, and ability to connect with people online. However, mobilizing supporters for a physical protest is a different challenge altogether. The impressive turnout suggests that his message may be resonating beyond social media platforms.

Is This The Beginning Of A Bigger Political Movement?

While one successful protest does not guarantee long-term political success, the Jantar Mantar gathering has certainly strengthened Dipke’s position. Political observers are now closely watching whether the Cockroach Janta Party can sustain this momentum and build a larger presence across the country.

The Real Test Lies Ahead

The protest has shown that Abhijeet Dipke’s influence may extend beyond likes, shares, and views. But the coming months will determine whether this enthusiasm can translate into a sustained movement capable of making an impact on the political landscape.

Donald Trump’s Immigration Agenda Facing Major Roadblock? US Court Strikes Down Key Restrictions on 39 Countries, Reprieve For Indians?

Donald- Trump
Google

Donald Trump: The Donald Trump government has been dealt a major blow by the US federal court’s decision that overturns the immigration restrictions that have affected applications made by people from 39 countries. This development has once again brought to focus the question of immigration policies in America and also has implications for future applicants, such as Indians looking to acquire visas and green cards.

Court Ruling Against Immigration Restrictions

A federal judge sitting in Rhode Island declared the US administration’s move of putting immigration applications made by people from particular nations under hold unconstitutional. It was said that the suspension or hold-up of applications based on the applicant’s country of origin contradicts current immigration law and regulations. The immigrants who faced difficulties in applying for asylum, employment authorization, green cards, and citizenship.

Why Was the Policy Challenged?

The legal challenge focused on whether immigration authorities had the power to indefinitely delay applications from people belonging to specific countries. Critics argued that the policy unfairly targeted applicants based on nationality rather than individual circumstances. The court agreed with this argument, stating that immigration agencies must follow established legal procedures and cannot impose blanket restrictions without proper legal authority.

A Fresh Challenge for Donald Trump’s Immigration Agenda

The ruling is being viewed as another major challenge to Donald Trump’s immigration agenda, which has often emphasized stricter controls and enhanced screening measures. Supporters argue that such policies are necessary to protect national security, while critics believe they create unnecessary barriers for legitimate applicants.

What Happens Next?

Donald Trump: While the administration may explore legal options to challenge the ruling, the decision currently stands as a significant victory for immigration advocates and affected applicants. As the debate continues, the judgment is expected to have a lasting impact on how immigration applications are reviewed and processed in the United States.

After MLAs, MPs Desert Didi? Political Storm In Bengal Brewing Hard, Can Mamata Banerjee Quell Internal Rift ?

Mamata- Banerjee

Mamata Banerjee: The political heat in West Bengal continues to rise following the news of unrest inside the Trinamool Congress party. As the opposition accuses several MLAs of going against the party’s leadership, fresh controversies have been sparked owing to the lack of presence of numerous MPs at a critical party meeting.

Low Attendance Sparks Political Controversies

At a recent National Working Committee meeting organized at the residence of Mamata Banerjee, a significantly low turnout among party MPs and MLAs was noticed. Although the TMC later made clarifications that not all elected members were present because they were not invited to the meeting, political analysts saw this development as an indication of growing disapproval among party leaders. Several political figures attended the meet, which included Abhishek Banerjee and some MPs/MLAs. However, the absence of certain influential party leaders became a point of discussion among political figures in Bengal.

Rebel Camp Claims Growing Support

The situation became even more significant after rebel leader Ritabrata Banerjee claimed that support for the dissident camp is increasing. According to him, the number of MLAs backing the rebellion is expected to grow further in the coming days. His remarks have intensified political speculation, with many wondering whether more lawmakers could break ranks with the party leadership. While the TMC has downplayed such claims, the statements have added to the uncertainty surrounding the party’s future direction.

Can Mamata Banerjee Restore Unity?

For Mamata Banerjee, the challenge is not only political but also organizational. The veteran leader has successfully navigated numerous political battles throughout her career, but the current situation presents a different test—maintaining unity within her own party. The leadership will likely focus on strengthening communication with dissatisfied leaders and preventing further defections. Party insiders believe that the coming weeks could prove crucial in determining whether the differences can be resolved or whether the rebellion gathers more momentum.

What Lies Ahead for TMC?

With rebel leaders claiming increasing support and questions being raised over attendance at key meetings, the Trinamool Congress finds itself at an important crossroads. While the party leadership remains confident about its strength, the opposition is closely watching every development.

Farmer’s daughter Mehakpreet Kaur topped the country to secure All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the Air Force Academy merit list, while Komalpreet Kaur sealed AIR-18 for entry into NDA, Khadakwasla, marking a major milestone for women in defence services.

Addressing the felicitation ceremony held here at Punjab Bhawan, Mr. Aman Arora hailed the indomitable spirit of Punjab’s daughters. “To be ranked first in AFCAT and 18th NDA exams among lakhs aspirants, takes fire in the belly. Our daughters have that fire,” he said.

He said that the success story doesn’t end here. Since 2022, 377 cadets from Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute and Mai Bhago Preparatory Institute have earned commission as officers in Indian armed forces. Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government took a path-breaking step in 2023 by starting an NDA Preparatory Wing for girls at Mai Bhago AFPI. Punjab becomes 1st state in country to crack down on arbitrary fee hikes by private schools: Arvind Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal

Welcoming Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann’s landmark decision to curb arbitrary fee hikes by private schools, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said Punjab has become the first state in the country to take decisive action against the unchecked profiteering of private educational institutions. He highlighted that the Bhagwant Mann Government has ordered private schools to refund any fee increase exceeding 5%, providing major relief to lakhs of parents burdened by rising education costs.

The AAP Chief noted that the AAP Government had previously compelled private schools in Delhi to roll back unjustified fee hikes, and Punjab is now following the same pro-people model. He said that while the government is transforming and strengthening government schools, it is equally committed to protecting students in private schools from excessive and arbitrary fees. Arvind Kejriwal added that Punjab has set an example for the entire country and that similar measures should be adopted nationwide to rein in the arbitrary practices of private schools.

In a video message, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said, “The AAP Government in Punjab has taken a very important decision. Two days ago, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann announced that a new law will soon be introduced under which no private school will be allowed to increase fees by more than 5 per cent in a year. This cap will include all charges such as tuition fees, library fees, development fees and every other category of fees. No school will be permitted to increase the overall fee burden by more than 5% annually.”

Highlighting a key provision of the proposed law, Arvind Kejriwal said, “The most significant aspect is that private schools that have increased fees beyond the permissible limit during the last three years will have to refund the excess amount to parents. For example, if a school has increased fees by 50% over the last three years, it will have to refund 35 per cent of that amount.”

Calling the move unprecedented, Arvind Kejriwal said, “Has anything like this ever happened in the history of India, where a private school has been required to refund money directly to parents? This happened earlier in Delhi when the AAP Government ensured that arbitrarily increased fees were returned. The same is now going to happen in Punjab.”

Emphasising the Punjab Government’s commitment to education, the AAP Chief noted, “Every parent dreams of giving the best possible education to their children. On one hand, we are transforming government schools in Punjab. Today, Punjab has overtaken Kerala and emerged as the number one state in the country in the field of education.”

Arvind Kejriwal added that the government was equally committed to protecting families whose children study in private schools. “Not all private schools are bad, but some institutions impose excessive and unjustified fee hikes, creating a huge financial burden on parents. This decision is a major step towards providing relief to both parents and students.”

Stating that the issue extends beyond Punjab, Arvind Kejriwal said, “The arbitrary practices of private schools must be curbed across the country. What Punjab has done should become a model for the entire nation. Similar laws should be implemented everywhere to protect parents from unfair fee hikes and ensure accountability in the education sector.”

Bhagwant Mann Govt’s e-rickshaw campaign reaches 3,440 villages, taking Yudh Nashean Virudh movement to Punjab’s grassroots

Punjab news

The Bhagwant Mann government’s flagship initiative against drug abuse in Punjab ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ is getting a major boost from a campaign that involves specially designated e-rickshaws at the grassroots level. These e-rickshaws are operating across Punjab’s 86 legislative assemblies as part of a pilot project aimed at mobilising communities against drug abuse.

As part of the campaign, one assembly segment has been selected in each of the 23 districts for the pilot project. In these assembly segments, one e-rickshaw has been assigned to cover 40 villages to spread awareness and collect anonymous tip-offs about drug peddlers and people in need of de-addiction, among other things. Already, the e-rickshaw initiative is covering 3,440 villages across the state, roughly one-third of all the Punjab villages.

The e-rickshaws are driving home the awareness messages to people who are difficult to reach through conventional means. The e-rickshaws carry and go from village to village to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the avenues for rehabilitation.

The initiative is part of the larger scheme of things of the Bhagwant Mann government to involve local communities in its fight against drug abuse. Village Defence Committees (VDCs) set up at the grassroots level are playing a huge role in monitoring the effectiveness of the programme to provide feedback to the government.

According to the feedback received from several districts, VDC members have seen encouraging responses ever since the deployment of the e-rickshaws. Committee members have reported increased public engagement in awareness programmes, greater participation in the meetings at the village levels and improved communication between residents and local authorities regarding drug-related concerns.

Review meetings in June are underway

This feedback is being reviewed during a series of meetings scheduled throughout June and has already begun. As per the review mechanism put in place, assembly-level meetings are being held in the first week of June, which will have a gathering of the MLA concerned, SDM, DSPs, SHOs, VDC conveners and acting presidents. The feedback will be sought from acting presidents and VDC conveners.

This shall be followed by VDC meetings in the second week of June, in which Block Coordinators, VDC conveners, VDC acting presidents, and VDC members would be present. It will review actions taken on the earlier complaints, evaluate new complaints, and conduct an overall review of Yudh Nashean Virudh campaign ‘s progress at the village level.

In the third week of June, a meeting would be held led by ministers, civil and police administration, to review the status of registered complaints and feedback would be sought from assembly and block coordinators. In the last week, Honourable CM Bhagwant Mann would review the progress of Yudh Nashean Virudh campaign, review the status of escalated complaints and also set the roadmap for the future.

This systematic review process reflects the Mann government’s focus on accountability and continuous monitoring of anti-drug initiatives. The meetings are aimed at gathering feedback from VDC conveners, acting presidents, block coordinators and representatives, while also assessing the effectiveness of various interventions undertaken under the campaign.

Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh said, “The e-rickshaw campaign is another feather in Mann government’s cap. In addition to collecting tip-offs from the community in a safe and anonymous manner, the e-rickshaws are also helping in initiating dialogue at the community level about the social and financial consequences of drug addiction and how to get rid of it. Local residents have shown keen interest in the outreach activities conducted through these mobile units, turning the government’s Yudh Nashean Virudh initiative into a people’s movement.”

The Bhagwant Mann government has consistently maintained that the battle against drugs cannot be won through enforcement alone and requires active participation from society.

With awareness, community participation and local accountability forming the core of the programme, the e-rickshaw initiative is increasingly being seen as a valuable addition to Punjab’s ongoing fight against drug abuse.

Bhagwant Mann Government Highlights Expansion of Canal Irrigation Network Across State

According to information shared by the ruling Aam Aadmi Party, the initiative is aimed at improving irrigation access for farmers while reducing dependence on groundwater. The government said significant work has been undertaken to construct new channels and restore existing irrigation systems to ensure the efficient distribution of canal water.

The state government has emphasized that strengthening the canal network

Officials stated that increased access to canal irrigation is helping farmers receive water enriched with natural minerals while also contributing to the conservation of rapidly depleting groundwater resources. The expansion of irrigation infrastructure is part of broader efforts to promote sustainable agricultural practices in Punjab.

The state government has emphasized that strengthening the canal network can reduce pressure on tube wells and lower energy consumption associated with groundwater extraction. Authorities believe this approach will support long-term water security and environmental sustainability in the agricultural sector.

Farmers in several regions have reportedly benefited from improved irrigation facilities, with many receiving canal water in their fields on a more regular basis. The government maintains that better water management can help improve agricultural productivity while reducing cultivation costs.

Punjab has been facing concerns over declining groundwater levels for several years, prompting calls for greater use of surface water resources. Officials say ongoing investments in irrigation infrastructure are intended to address these challenges and ensure reliable water availability for farmers across the state.

The government has described the initiative as an important step toward strengthening the agricultural economy while promoting efficient and sustainable use of water resources.
