Pakistan is on the backfoot after their star player suffered injury. After Babar Azam and Shadab Khan, now opener Imam-ul-Haq has also been ruled out of the second Test due to a thumb injury.
In a press release, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that Imam will return home on Sunday and will stay at the High Performance Center in Lahore for rehab. The southpaw suffered injury during the practice session in Queenstown.

The farmers Union has proposed another round of talks with the Centre on December 29. The meeting was headed by Yogender Yadav, who is the founder of Swaraj India. The meeting was held at the Singhu border.

The Mumbai Police on Saturday held a press conference to reveal that the audit report of BARC has confirmed that some executives of the rating agency were indeed involved in TRP manipulation. Joint Commissioner of Police (crime) Milind Bharambe told the media that the said forensic audit from BARC was received last week.
The audit was performed after the new management took over the organisation’s operations this year, following information reports from various sources. According to Bharambe, it has been found out in the audit that from May 2017 to November 2019, the TRPs of English and Telugu channels were tampered.
According to forensic report by BARC’s team, manipulation was a part of plan wherein number one news channel was pushed to second spot. Three methods – outlier, meta-rules and channel audience control – were used by the accused channels to tamper the TRP ratings.
“There were several complaints earlier of TRP viewership and data being manipulated when Partho Dasgupta was the CEO of BARC. Allegations made by whistleblowers and others on manipulation of data were suppressed. However, after the new dispensation took over, a third-party forensic audit of the entire data was ordered which has vindicated our findings and investigation,” said Bharambe.
“These are the findings of the third-party audit. The report says that in some cases, the ratings of these news channels appear to be pre-decided. It also points to cartelisation of some of the ex-top officials of BARC (in manipulation of data),” he added
Meanwhile, Republic TV, one of the prime accused in the said case, called Mumbai Point laughable for their press conference.
Earlier this week, Parthi Dasgupta, a former CEO of BARC, was arrested in the manipulation case by the Mumbai Police. Prior to that, ex COO Romil Ramgarhia was also arrested in the same case.
The Mumbai Police have so far arrested 15 people in the TRP manipulation case.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday released an installment of Rs 18,000 crore to more than 9 lakh farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The PM transferred a total of Rs 18,000 crore to the accounts of nine crore farmers of the country. Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi is a very ambitious scheme of the Central Government. The goal of this scheme is to increase the income of farmers.
Under the PM Kisan Yojana, the government transfers a total amount of six thousand rupees to the bank accounts of farmers every financial year. This amount is sent to the bank accounts of the farmers in three equal installments. The government had sent the first installment of the current financial year to the farmers’ account in April.
This helped the farmers affected by the enforced lockdown caused by Covid-19. After this, the government sent the second installment in August. Through the PM Kisan Yojana, the Modi government of the Center deposits an installment of Rs 2,000 every four months in the accounts of farmers. A total of 6 thousand rupees are sent to farmers accounts in a year. The scheme came into force on December 1, 2018. This money is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the farmers.

Ahead of the three day assembly session the Madhya Pradesh cabinet has approved the draft of MP Freedom to Regio Bill or the Love Jihad Bill in a special meeting chaired by the Chief Minister.
Under the proposed bill the law broker will face 10 year jail and a minimum of Rs. 50,000 fine.
“We won’t allow forced conversions in Madhya Pradesh. Under the new bill, anyone who does it will face a jail term up to 10 yrs and minimum Rs 50,000 fine. Many incidents came to light where minor girls were converted, married & made to contest Panchayat polls,” said the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Guwahati on Friday (December 25) night, on two-day visit North East Democratic Alliance convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
“Reached Guwahati! I wholeheartedly thank the people of Assam for such a warm welcome,” Shah said in a tweet today.
Vice President of the BJP and the party’s Assam in-charge, Baijayant Panda said that he will reach the state on December 23 ahead of Shah’s visit. During his visit, Shah is scheduled to hold a meeting with the party leaders and review the election preparations.

Superstar Rajinikanth, who was admitted Apollo hospital on Friday after facing severe fluctuations in blood pressure, has shown improvement, doctors said on Saturday.
Though Rajinikanth’s blood pressure is still on the higher side, it is better than before, the doctors added.
“Mr Rajinikanth who was admitted in the hospital yesterday is progressing well. He has had an eventful night and his blood pressure is still on the higher side although under better control than yesterday,” Apollo Hospital said in a statement.
“His blood pressure medications are being titrated carefully and he will continue to be under close monitoring. He has been advised complete rest in view of his labile blood pressure and visitors are not being allowed to meet him,” it said.
“Based on his investigations and control of blood pressure, a decision on his discharge will be taken by the evening.”
Doctors have requested fans and well wishers to not gather outside the hospital amid the pandemic. Rajinikanth’s daughter is with him in the hospital.
Rajinikanth had been shooting for his upcoming film ‘Annaatthe’ in Hyderabad for the last 10 days. The shooting was halted after a few people on the sets tested positive for the infection. The actor was also tested for covid-19 on December 22 and his results came out negative.
“Though he did not have any symptoms of Covid-19, his blood pressure showed sever fluctuations and needed further evaluation for which he has been admitted to the hospital,” said an earlier statement by the hospital.
