Andhra Pradesh tops “Ease of Doing Business” ranking followed by Uttar Pradesh and Telangana

Andhra Pradesh has appeared as the best state in ease of doing business ranking, retaining its top position in the ranking of states and union territories (UTs).

Ease of Doing Business (EODB) is a joint initiative by the Department for Promotion of Industries and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and the World Bank to improve the overall business environment in the States.

Registering a jump of 10 places in the rankings, Uttar Pradesh occupied the second position in 2019 as against 12th in 2018.

Telangana slipped to the third position from second in 2018 followed by Madhya Pradesh (4th), Jharkhand (5th), Chhattisgarh (6th), Himachal Pradesh (7th), Rajasthan (8th), West Bengal (9th) and Gujarat (10th).

The ranking is based on the implementation of the business reform action plan 2019 by states and UTs, according to a report released by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday.

Releasing the report, Sitharaman said that states have taken the exercise in its true sense and it would help states and UTs to become a better place to do business.

Appreciating the effort put in by states, Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, who also has the Railways portfolio, said the exercise is aimed at promoting competition among states to improve the business climate to attract domestic and foreign investments.

The states and union territories that continued to lag are Assam(20th), J&K (21st), Goa (24th), Bihar (26th) and Kerala (28th). Tripura was ranked at the bottom 36th.

In the World Bank’s latest ‘Doing Business’ report, India has jumped 14 places to the 63rd position.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has opened up his Dalit card yet again before the assembly elections.

Nitish Kumar ordered in a vigilance meeting under the Scheduled Caste-Tribe Atrocities Prevention Act that if a member of the SC-ST family is killed, then a provision should be made to give a job to a member of the victim’s family.

CM Nitish told the officers to implement this immediately so that the victim’s family can be given benefits.

Talking about statistics, the Dalit class can play a decisive role in getting the key to the power of the state. That is why Nitish Kumar is taking such steps before the election.

Veteran Australian opener David Warner felt ‘stunned’ to play an international match in an empty stadium without a spectator, and he had no complaints as this was the first time he was not ‘abused’ by arch-rivals England spectators.

IPL 2020: BCCI to release schedule for IPL on Sunday

The schedule for the 13th season of IPL will be released this Sunday. IPL chairman Brijesh Patel has informed about this on Saturday. Before that, various speculations were made about the IPL schedule as this was the first time the BCCI is releasing the schedule so late.

Some franchisees have also appealed to the BCCI to release the schedule as soon as possible so that all the teams can plan accordingly. The BCCI recently spoke to officials of the Emirates Cricket Board (UAE) and all issues regarding the schedule and traffic have been resolved.

One of the reasons for the delay in the program might be the rising cases of COVID-19 in Abu Dhabi, as league matches are to be played in Abu Dhabi as well. Apart from this, matches will also be played in Dubai and Sharjah.

80 more special trains will run on the track from 12 September

Amid Corona crisis, the Indian Railways has announced a big relief to the people. On Saturday, the railway announced that it will run 80 new special trains from September 12. Ticket booking will start from 10 September. Railway Board Chairman Vinod Kumar Yadav said that these 40 pairs ie 80 special trains will be run in addition to the already running 230 trains.


Humsafar Express running from Delhi to Gorakhpur, Nanda Devi Express running from Kota to Dehradun, Vikramshila Express going from Delhi to Bhagalpur, Lucknow-Delhi Shatabdi Express, Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express, Mysore-Solapur Gol Gumbaj Express in the list of those trains Which will run on the track from 12 September.

The Railways is currently running only 230 special trains. To stop the spread of Corona infection in the country, the Railways stopped operating passenger trains, mail and express trains from 22 March. The railways started Shramik Special trains from May 1 to bring the migrant laborers to their destination. After this, Rajdhani special trains were started from May 12. So from June 1, 100 pairs of trains were run. In this way, 230 trains are currently being operated.

Former vice president Joe Biden has said that if voted to power, his administration will sanction Chinese officials responsible for human rights abuses in Tibet.

“My administration will sanction Chinese officials responsible for human rights abuses in Tibet, and step up support for the Tibetan people, including by expanding Tibetan language services at Radio Free Asia and Voice of America to get information from the outside world into Tibet,” Biden said.

“Where (President Donald) Trump has turned a blind eye, a Biden-Harris administration will stand up for the people of Tibet,” Biden said.

In the statement, Biden claimed that Trump has been weak on his China policy.

“Once again, the silence from President Trump has been deafening, as he focuses instead on his empty trade deal with Beijing and protecting his ”very good friendship” with Chinese President Xi Jinping. It”s disgraceful, though not surprising, that Trump is the first American president in three decades who has not met or spoken with His Holiness the Dalai Lama,” he said.

“Trump hasn”t even fulfilled the statutory requirement to appoint a Special Coordinator to lead America”s efforts on this vital issue. It”s no wonder China”s leaders believe they have a free hand to deepen repression in Tibet, just as they have in Hong Kong and Xinjiang,” Biden said.

He will also “step up” support for the Tibetan people, he said, by, among things, expanding Tibetan language services at Radio Free Asia and Voice of America to get information from the outside world into Tibet.

Pakistan violates ceasefire in LoC, One Indian soldier is martyred

Pakistan opened heavy fire along the Line of Control in Naugam sector of North Kashmir and Shahpur Kirani, Poonch district. A soldier of the Indian Army is also martyred in Naugam. While two other military personnel were injured. The martyr has been identified as Bhupendra Singh and the injured as Lansnayak Venkatesh and Sepoy Shahjal.

In Poonch, Pak army targeted about a dozen villages adjacent to LoC. Many houses have been damaged by this and many cattle have also been killed. The Indian Army gave a befitting reply to Pakistan at both places.

10 Baloch battalions of the Pakistani Army started firing mortars at residential areas along the forward posts of the Indian Army in Shahpur Kirani and Kasba sector at around nine in the morning.

When the Indian Army retaliated, the Pakistani troops increased the firing range and started firing mortars in several residential areas including Deogwar, Malty, Dalan, Dokdi near the Line of Control. Indian and Chinese defence ministers meeting in Moscow converged on both sides. Explore the peace option albeit the People’s Liberation Army has beefed up its positions south of Pangong Tso.

According to diplomats Indian defence minister Rajnath Singh and his Chinese counterpart General Wei Fenghe both held their positions. Singh is en-route to Delhi via Tehran.

While China’s General Wei wrote down all the points raised by Singh during the two and a half-hour meeting. He even pointed out that the Indian media is very negative.

However Singh expressed his helplessness in controlling the Indian media saying that the media is totally free.

“Causes and truth of the current tension on the China-India border are clear, and the responsibility entirely lies with India. China cannot lose an inch of its territory, and its armed forces are fully determined, capable and confident in safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the Chinese said in their statement.

China also called on India to “earnestly implement important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and insist on resolving the issue through dialogue and consultation”

The Defence Ministry responded “determined to protect (its) sovereignty and territorial integrity”, but urged China against further escalation and said it was keen for China to “work with the Indian side for complete disengagement at the earliest…”

“The two sides should continue their discussions, including through diplomatic and military channels, to ensure complete disengagement and de-escalation and full restoration of peace and tranquillity along the LAC at the earliest,” the ministry said.

Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik, Samuel Miranda arrested by NCB

 Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda have been sent to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) custody till September 9 by 64th Metropolitan Magistrate NN Joshi.

The NCB was seeking 7-days custody of the two but was given only 4-days custody by the Mumbai’s Esplanade Court on Saturday. The NCB arrested actress Showik and Sushant Singh Rajput’s former house manager Samuel. The two were brought to Esplanade Court on Saturday by the NCB officials to seek their custody for further interrogation.

They have sought five-day custody of both Mr Miranda and Showik Chakraborty. Rhea Chakraborty, meanwhile, is likely to be summoned for further questioning tomorrow.

NCB also carried out searches at the residences of Showik and Miranda. During the raid, they seized Showik’s laptop and mobile phone. The NCB told court that Showik used to order ganja and marijuana from drug-peddler Abdul Basit Parihar.

He said that he does not want to get into any legal battle with the club as Messi was supposed to pay 700 Million Euros to Barcelona for breaking his term.

With this, a period of speculation about his future came to an end. He had earlier said that he wanted to leave the club after the end of the season. The Barcelona club wanted him to remain with the club until its agreement was concluded on June 2021. Barcelona also tweeted and shared the information of Messi will be staying with them.

Earlier, the star footballer’s father wrote a letter to the Spanish League stating that his son was free to leave Barcelona immediately without paying 700 million euros. Earlier, the league had said that Messi’s agreement is till June 2021 and he cannot go without paying the fine.

The fourteenth season of the controversial reality show, Bigg Boss, will premiere on Colors on October 3. Though the preparation for the show is in full swing, the makers haven’t still not finalised the contestants for the season. The show was previously scheduled to be telecasted from September but was postponed because the makers haven’t made up their mind on the inmates yet.

While in the past, the show has premiered on Sunday, this year, it will be launched on Sunday as no weekend series is on air.

“Last season managed to break many records, and the pressure is there to keep the same quality when it comes to faces. While a few celebs have been confirmed, talks are on in different stages with a few others. There is already a big buzz around the show, and the makers have promised to make it an exciting affair,” The Indian Express quotes a source linked to the show as saying.

The makers of the show recently dropped the much-awaited promo of the show.

An official announcement is still awaited, but rumours suggest that the celebrity entering in the house will be: Nia Sharma, Pavitra Punia, Akanksha Puri, Nishant Malkani and Naina Singh. Other names in the list of possible inmates entering the house are Aly Goni, Jasmin Bhasin, Tina Datta, Avinash Mukherjee, Shagun Pandey and Adhyayan Suman.

Earlier, it was revealed that Sushmita Sen’s brother, Rajeev Sen, was also approached to participate in the show. However, Rajeev slammed the rumours saying nothing of such sort has happened.

Just like last year, the upcoming season of the show will have only celebrities and no commoners. Once the contestants sign the contract, they will be quarantined before entering into the house to ensure safety amid the pandemic.

We celebrate teachers day on the birth anniversary of former President of the country Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who is considered one of the greatest teachers of the country. The former President, who was one of India’s most distinguished scholar, believed that “teachers should be the best minds in the country”.

Dr Radhakrishnan was the first Vice President of India from 1952–1962 and went on to become the second President of India from 1962-1967. He was born in the erstwhile Madras Presidency near the Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu border. Being a bright student, he completed his education by winning scholarships, despite lack of finances. After completing his MA in Philosophy in 1908, Dr Radhakrishnan taught the subject at Madras Presidency College

CBSE releases exam datesheet for class 10th and 12th compartment

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday released the compartment datesheet (September 2020) for Class 10th and 12th. The complete schedule is available on the official site of the Board at cbse.nic.in. The Compartment exam for both Class 10th and 12th will begin from September 22, 2020. Class X exam will end on September 28 while Class XII exam will be concluded on September 29, 2020.

  • Click on CBSE Compartment Exam Date 2020 for Class 10 or Class 12 link available on the home page.
  • A new PDF file will open.
  • Candidates can check the exam dates and download the file.
  • If needed candidates can also keep a hard copy of the same for further need.

“Candidate examination in respect of private candidate will be held at the theory examination centre unless otherwise notified. Private candidate should contact the Principal of the school of their theory examination centers for date and time of practical examination before theory examination is over. The practical examination should be completed before 28th September, 2020,” the official notice reads.
