IPL 2020: Dhoni has already prepared his successor for the CSK says Bravo

MS Dhoni has prepared Virat Kohli as the next India captain, so he now wants to prepare his successor in the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings. West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, who has been a part of CSK for some time, has said that it is already in Dhoni’s mind to prepare the next captain.

Dhoni has led CSK in all 10 seasons. Under Dhoni’s leadership, CSK won the IPL three times and emerged as one of the league’s most successful franchises. In the last edition too, CSK was runner-up where they lost the final match against the Mumbai Indians.

Bravo stated that Suresh Raina, who has ruled himself out of this year’s IPL due to personal reasons, is the official vice-captain for the last few years. CSK hasn’t announced the alternative vice-captain for Suresh Raina, and still, the team is undecided about the vice-captainship for this season of Indian Premier League. Bravo further said that as of now Dhoni is only worried about Chennai and he wants his full focus on the Chennai based franchise.

Bravo said that the team’s success is because of the combined efforts of the players and support staff and it will remain for a very long time. “There are excellent players in the team who have many years of experience. We do not have external pressure nor from the captain’s side. And the biggest thing is that our fans are everything for us. This gives us a lot of support, which makes our team consistently perform well.

The BJP has launched a campaign in Bihar seeking “justice for actor Sushant Singh Rajput”

The BJP has launched a campaign in Bihar seeking “justice for actor Sushant Singh Rajput”, with the party planning to paste posters across the state declaring, “Na bhoole hain, na bhulne denge (we have neither forgotten nor will we let anyone forget)”, along with a photograph of the late actor.

The BJP, however, insists all this has nothing to do with the assembly elections slated to be held in the state later this year.

It has printed 25,000 car stickers and has been distributing it across several districts since July. “We have also got 30,000 masks with the same message and have been distributing it for some time now.

We had also been conducting meetings in Patna in groups in July first week. It is just a coincidence that some people noticed the stickers and are attributing political motives to it,” said art and culture wing convenor Varun Kumar Singh.

He added, the state convener of BJP’s art and cultural cell, said the poster was part of their campaign for justice for Sushant’s family.

BJP spokesperson Nikhil Anand, however, said the campaign should not be seen from a political angle. “There should be no political interpretation of the genuine concern expressed by any forum of the state BJP. It is just meant to show solidarity with the departed actor’s family, which was craving for justice,” the BJP spokesperson said.

Best known for his role in a 1973 Supreme Court judgement, Kesavananda Bharathi dies at the age of 79

Kesavananda Bharathi, whose legal fight led to the landmark decision outlining the basic rights under the Constitution, passed away this morning.

The amendments in the Kerala land reforms law which he had challenged were upheld by the Supreme Court in 1973.

Police said the 79-year old Kerala-based seer Kesavananda Bharati Sripadagalvaru died at the Edaneer Mutt here due to age-related ailments.

“As per the information with us, he passed away at around 3.30 am on Sunday,” police told PTI.

The case of Kesavananda Bharati vs the State of Kerala was heard for 68 days and continues to hold the top spot for the longest proceedings ever to have taken place in the top court.

Bharati argued that the three amendments breached his fundamental rights under Article 25 (right to practice and propagate religion), Article 26 (freedom of religious denomination, including managing and administering its property) and Article 31 (right to property).

The hearing in the case commenced on October 31, 1972, and concluded on March 23, 1973, and it’s the most referred to case name in Indian Constitutional law.

The seer, however, lost his case. The court upheld the constitutionality of the land reforms Act. In 1968, at the age of 19 years, Sri Keshavananda Bharati Sripadangalavaru succeeded Sri Ishwarananda Bharati Swami as the head of the Edneer Mutt.

The family-run mutt belongs to the lineage of Sri Thotakacharya, one of the first four disciples of Adi Shankaracharya.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu tweeted and expressed deep grief;

Dr Harsh Vardhan introduces “On Demand” COVID-19 testing, doctor’s prescription no longer required

The Union Health Ministry on Saturday issued an updated advisory for COVID-19 testing simplifying the process and giving more flexibility to the State authorities to facilitate enhanced ease of testing.

According to the updated advisory Covid-19 testing can be done ”on-demand” without a prescription.

“A totally new section has been added in the Advisory on “Testing on Demand” which for all practical purposes does away with prescription by a registered medical practitioner although state governments have the freedom to decide on simplified modalities,” the Ministry of Health said in a statement.

The move comes after a prod by the Delhi high court that asked why people who show no symptoms of the disease – which can be a large proportion of Covid-19 patients – cannot get a test.

The rule until now required people to either have flu-like symptoms or come in close contact with an infected person, following which a doctor could issue a prescription for a test.

Earlier Aditya Thackrey, Maharashtra’s Cabinet Minister had decided to open up testing to any individual in the city without prescription/self-attestation.

The ICMR also stressed that no emergency procedure (including deliveries) should be delayed for lack of tests, and pregnant women should not be referred for a lack of testing facility.

Further, the existing recommendations related to testing for COVID-19 have been extended, elaborated and divided into four parts — routine surveillance in containment zones and screening at points of entry, routine surveillance in non-containment areas, hospital settings and testing on demand — and choice of test (RT-PCR, TrueNat or CBNAAT and rapid antigen tests) in order of priority has been listed.

Kangana Ranaut Reacts to Sanjay Raut’s Abusive Comment

Kangana Ranaut has now reacted to an abusive comment that Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said.

On Saturday Kangana Ranaut wrote: “In 2008 Movie Mafia declared me a Psycho, in 2016 they called me a Witch and Stalker in 2020 Maharashtra Minister publicity gave me the title of H****khor Ladki, because I said after a murder I feel unsafe in Mumbai, where are INTOLERANCE debate warriors?”

Again Kangana’s tweet came in response to a tweet by political observer Madhav Sharma, who wrote: “Sanjay Raut is saying that @KanganaTeam said things against Shiva Ji Maharaj. It’s a lie. She has never said anything against the great Shiva Ji. A woman is being abused publicly by people in power and the so called “freedom of speech warriors” will not even say a word. SHAME!!”

Moreover Dia Mirza and Ranvir Shorey has also condemned the remarks made by Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut against actor Kangana Ranaut.

Ranvir retweeted a video of Sanjay, as he called Kangana ‘haramkhor’. The video showed Sanjay criticising Kangana for ‘disrespecting Maharashtra and Shivaji Maharaj’.

“The language used here by this local Maharashtra politician for @KanganaTeam, the heartthrob of millions around the country, is utterly deplorable, whatever the provocation!,” he wrote in his tweet.

Shaheena Shaheen, Baloch women journalist shot dead in Balochistan

Shaheena Shaheen Baloch, a Baloch woman journalist, was shot and killed in Kech, Balochistan on Saturday. Shaheen was a morning host at PTV and was the Editor of Balochi magazine Dazgohar.

Police said unidentified suspects opened fire on Shaheen at her residence in TTC Colony of Turbat. The killers escaped unhurt from the scene.

She was shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Turbat where she succumbed to her injuries. She received three bullet wounds, police official Allah Bakhsh told DawnNewsTV.

Shaheena, a supporter of gender equality, was known for campaigning for women’s empowerment in Balochistan. At present, the police have started the investigation of the whole case but have not yet disclosed.

Before Shaheena, another Pakistani journalist Sajid Gondal also went missing from Islamabad. Local people have expressed opposition to this incident.

The police reportedly found blood and empty bullet shells at a house where the shooting allegedly took place. The house is said to be of one Akbar Gichki, Shaheena Shaheen Baloch’s husband.

Meanwhile, Balochistan Government’s spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani said that murder was “extremely unfortunate” and strict action will be taken against culprits.

Gen Bipin Rawat: We are fully committed to winning India’s wars with Indian solutions

Addressing `Emerging defence exports’, General Rawat Chief of Defence Staff, said that India values its emerging relationship with the United States and “cherishes” its traditional relationship with Russia.

“With both these powers, we share a mature and robust defence and security framework,” he said.

“In the emerging security paradigm, India’s security would be maintained not, as hitherto, on the International Border, Line of Control or the Line of Actual Control alone, but in the strategic space of the “extended neighbourhood” and the ‘strategic frontier’,” he added.

“The Indian defence sector is today at an inflexion point poised to take off. The Government and the Indian armed forces have clearly demonstrated their resolve and commitment to the Make in India Defence initiative. We are fully committed to winning India’s wars with Indian solutions,” the CDS said.

“In this era of multidimensional technology, we must focus on constant innovations and modern technological solutions, to keep ourselves ahead of the adversaries. Keeping in mind the macro-economic parameters and socio-economic requirement of our country we have to work through the budgetary constraints by finding the best solutions through new acquisitions and optimization/upgradation of legacy systems,” he added.

“The creation of the DMA, headed by the CDS, having a central Staffing Scheme along with amendments to GoI Business Rules, in effect, admits the military into the central edifice of the Government of India,” CDS said.

“This restructuring of the Ministry of Defence gives us the opportunity to embrace forward-looking strategies to seize and exploit the moment and set in motion a dynamic transformation process,” Gen Rawat added.

China PLA to achieve green line in Ladakh

Chinese People’s Liberation Army, Xi Jinping commander-in-chief , specify its Tibet border with Ladakh by a green line. Green line runs over finger 4 area on the north bank of Pangong Tso and it nearly claims all the Chushul Valley on the south banks of the salt-water. However, the line was defined by the Chinese on the map in 1960.

Although due to the Indian Army’s take over on August 29, 30, 31, the PLA’s objective of unilaterally changing the facts on the ground could not be achieved.

“If the Indian specialized troops had not pre-empted the Chinese by occupying all dominant heights on the southern banks and Chushul, the PLA would have taken control of the Valley. The Chinese single-minded focus is to reach the green line and the Indian focus is not to allow them but reach the patrolling limits defined by the government,” said a senior official.

Meanwhile leaders of communist China had been speaking peace and tranquility to their army and diplomatic opposite numbers, the PLA used to be militarily beefing up to succeed in the golf green declare line at the southern banks of Pangong Tso at the night time of August 29-30.

According to Hindustan Times reports, there is evidence of PLA force accretion on the Chinese border with Bhutan as China would like to emphasise its military might on the tiny kingdom of happiness. However, just like in Doklam in 2017, the Indian Army will stand up to the PLA in this area in support of its closest ally.
