Bhagwant Mann arrests 597 during Day 168 of ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ anti-gangster drive

Punjab Police continued its statewide crackdown on organised crime under the ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ campaign, carrying out large-scale raids in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF). The operation targeted identified gangster networks and their associates across multiple districts of the state.

As part of Day 168 of the campaign, police conducted 1,070 raids across Punjab and arrested 597 individuals during the coordinated enforcement drive. Authorities said the action was based on intelligence inputs and targeted locations linked to criminal activities.

During the operation, police also apprehended 11 proclaimed offenders and recovered 10 weapons, further intensifying efforts to curb organised crime and illegal arms possession in the state.

The force stated that continuous surveillance, targeted raids and intelligence-led operations are being carried out to dismantle gangster networks and disrupt their activities.

Officials reiterated that the anti-gangster campaign is aimed at ensuring public safety and strengthening law and order across Punjab. The police have appealed to citizens to support the initiative by sharing information about criminal activities through the Anti-Gangster Helpline (93946-93946), assuring that information provided by the public will be treated confidentially.

Punjab Police added that sustained enforcement action against organised crime will continue, with a focus on arresting wanted criminals, seizing illegal weapons and preventing gang-related offences across the state.
