CM Vijay on Wednesday welcomed the announcement of a 2 per cent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for government employees and teachers in Tamil Nadu, calling it a significant relief measure for lakhs of families amid rising living expenses.

According to reports, the revised DA hike will benefit state government staff, teachers and pensioners, with the increase expected to come into effect from the approved implementation date decided by the state administration.
Officials said the move has been taken to provide financial support to employees and help them cope with inflation and increasing day-to-day expenses.

The decision is likely to benefit a large section of serving and retired government personnel across Tamil Nadu. Government sources said the revision would lead to an increase in monthly salaries and pension payouts.
