The Uttar Pradesh government led by CM Yogi Adityanath has highlighted improvements in public safety and law enforcement, citing findings from the latest National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) report for 2024.
According to the report, despite being India’s most populous state, Uttar Pradesh recorded a crime rate 28.5% lower than the national average.

The government stated that while the national average crime rate stood at 252.3, Uttar Pradesh recorded a rate of 180.2, reflecting what officials described as strengthened policing and improved security measures across the state.

Yogi Adityanath has repeatedly emphasized citizen security as a top governance priority, with the administration focusing on law enforcement reforms and faster response mechanisms.

The government credited initiatives such as the Safe City project, Mission Shakti campaign, strengthened policing systems, and fast-track courts for contributing to the decline in crime rates and improving public confidence.
Women safety and judicial reforms
Officials said targeted measures for women’s safety, surveillance systems, and quicker judicial proceedings through fast-track courts have played a key role in improving law and order conditions.
