CM Yogi Adityanath Urges Devotees to Make Kanwar Yatra a Celebration of Service and Social Responsibility

He said the annual pilgrimage during the holy month of Shravan brings crores of devotees together through their shared devotion to Lord Shiva.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has appealed to devotees participating in the annual Kanwar Yatra to observe the pilgrimage with discipline, social responsibility and a strong commitment to public service.

In a message to the people of Uttar Pradesh, CM Yogi Adityanath described the Kanwar Yatra as more than a religious tradition, calling it a living reflection of India’s social and cultural values. He said the annual pilgrimage during the holy month of Shravan brings crores of devotees together through their shared devotion to Lord Shiva.

UP Government Steps Up Arrangements for Kanwar Yatra

The Chief Minister said the Uttar Pradesh government is committed to ensuring that every Shiva devotee completes the journey safely and respectfully.

According to Yogi Adityanath, arrangements have been strengthened along the Kanwar routes, including organised camps, clean drinking water, medical assistance, toilets and adequate lighting. Traffic management measures and continuous monitoring through control rooms have also been put in place to help keep the pilgrimage routes organised.

The government’s focus, he said, is to ensure that devotees receive necessary facilities while maintaining smooth movement of people and vehicles along the routes.

CM Yogi Adityanath Calls for Environment-Friendly Kanwar Yatra

The Chief Minister also urged devotees to make environmental protection an important part of the pilgrimage. He appealed to people to adopt eco-friendly Kanwars and take a pledge to reduce plastic use.

Yogi Adityanath emphasised that religious celebrations can also become an opportunity to promote responsible citizenship. He encouraged devotees and members of the public to remain alert and considerate toward others during the journey.
