The much-awaited Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) is set to connect NHAI’s flagship Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The proposed project will be 56 km long. It will connect four important cities of NCR—Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, and Ghaziabad. It will be a six-lane project and the anticipated date of completion is 2027.

The project is expected to give a major boost to the economy of the NCR. FNG will not only connect the cities of NCR, it will also serve as a major linking point for the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.

28 KM Will Pass Through Faridabad, Check FNG Expressway Route

The six-lane FNG Expressway will be a 56 km corridor connecting Faridabad, Noida, and Ghaziabad. 28 km of the corridor will fall within Faridabad, followed by 20 km in Noida and 8 km in Ghaziabad. As per the suggested route, the Noida stretch will be operational first, followed by Faridabad and Ghaziabad. As part of the project, a 600 m bridge will be built over the Yamuna near Lalpur village. Haryana and UP governments will equally bear the expense of the bridge. FNG will have multiple entry and exit points near other important routes and villages. The expressway will start from Chhijarsi in Noida Sector 63 and extend to the Yamuna, crossing the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. It will also serve as an important link for the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway through the Faridabad bypass.

FNG Aims to Reduce Travel Time Between NCR

Currently, it takes 2–3 hours to reach from Ghaziabad to Gurugram, but FNG will reduce the travel time to 45 minutes. It will also be efficient in cutting time between Noida, Gurugram, and Faridabad—reducing it from hours to 30 minutes. Currently, around 100,000 people travel daily between these cities.

Since it will connect the flagship Delhi-Mumbai Expressway it will be an economic boom for NCR. It will also help locals travelling daily between NCR by cost cutting there travell expense.

When Was the Project Started? Latest Update on Completion

The project was first planned in 1989. But the project has faced multiple setbacks due to land acquisition problems, funding constraints, and lack of coordination between different state governments. The project finally gained momentum when former Ghaziabad MP V.K. Singh urged the NHAI to step in and complete the remaining sections.

As of March, 11.6 km section of the FNG under Noida has been completed and the project is expected to be functional around 2027.
