Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Sunday called for the extensive use of artificial intelligence and advanced technology to tackle foreign-funded religious conversion rackets and organised crimes in the state. Addressing the valedictory session of the two-day senior police officers’ conference, Police Manthan, held in Lucknow, the Chief Minister issued clear directions to strengthen intelligence-driven policing.

From Arrests to Network Busting

CM Yogi Adityanath described religious conversion as a “serious challenge” to social harmony and internal security, stressing that recent incidents indicate the involvement of organised networks with foreign funding. Referring to the Balrampur case, where a cleric was arrested for allegedly running an international conversion racket, the Chief Minister said such activities are not isolated but part of a structured and well-funded operation. He directed IPS officers to deploy artificial intelligence tools, financial trail analysis, technical intelligence, and data-based profiling to identify funding sources, handlers, and beneficiaries of such networks.

Emphasising the need for proactive and preventive policing, the Chief Minister said that modern crimes require modern solutions. He urged the police leadership to integrate AI-based surveillance, digital forensics, and inter-agency coordination to ensure swift and decisive action against anti-social elements operating across districts and borders.

CM Yogi Adityanath also ordered a stringent crackdown on organised gangs involved in cow smuggling. He made it clear that merely arresting individuals at the ground level would not be enough. “The entire network, including masterminds and financial backers, must be identified and dealt with under the strictest legal provisions,” he said. According to him, dismantling the complete chain of organised crime is essential to send a strong deterrent message and ensure lasting control over such illegal activities.

During the Police Manthan conference, the Chief Minister reiterated the Uttar Pradesh government’s commitment to zero tolerance against crime. He praised the police force for improved law and order but underlined that continuous innovation, technology adoption, and accountability are key to maintaining public trust and security.

The conference focused on future-ready policing, use of emerging technologies, intelligence sharing, and strengthening internal security mechanisms, positioning Uttar Pradesh as a frontrunner in technology-driven law enforcement.
