Iran Protest: Amir Saeed Iravani, Iran’s United Nations ambassador, has addressed a letter to António Guterres, the UN secretary-general and the Security Council president.
Iravani urged UN to denounce what he termed as “illegal threats” from Donald Trump, the United States President, amid the ongoing protests in the country.
Ali Hosseini Khamenei, the head of Iran, has dared Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu against any misadventure.
Iran Protest-US and Israel May Join Hands
According to media reports, Israel and the United States are presently reviewing plans for a possible joint operation targeting senior officials of the Islamic regime of Iran and the commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Top Iranian Figures Possibly Seeking Refuge
In another development, UK Conservative MP and former security minister Tom Tugendhat has commented that many top figures in the establishment of Iran may already be having talks with foreign intelligence agencies. Tugendhat said they may be providing secrets in exchange for protection if the Iranian government collapses.
Mai Sato, the Special Rapporteur on human rights in Iran, has urged top authorities in Iran to respect the legitimate rights of the protestors. Sato warned the Iran authorities to refrain from the use of excessive force against peaceful protests.
What Caused the Iran Unrest?
Iran unrest has been caused by decades of destroying and squandering national resources of the country in pursuit of its bankrupt and adventurist policies. Today, Iran’s common men are on the roads against poverty, inflation, corruption, injustice and insecurity.
