Jaipur Metro: A high-level meeting with officials of Jaipur Metro was chaired by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma to discuss the metro’s expansion plans in the Pink City.
The CM instructed officials to make sure that all important locations are deservingly included in upcoming metro phase expansions while a comprehensive action plan is also formulated based on population density.

The Rajasthan CM emphasized on the significance of efficient and accessible public transport while commenting that the state government is fully committed to strengthen the concept of urban mobility for the Pink City via the metro network.

Sharma also remarked that timely development of metro projects in Jaipur and maintaining controlled costs are important, especially keeping requirements of the future in view.
Proposed Alignments For Metro Expansion
During the meeting, Metro officials presented the proposed alignments for metro expansion. This was in context to the preparation of a Detailed Project Report (DPR) to extend the Jaipur’s metro network to Vaishali Nagar and Jagatpura.
Sharma also directed officials that a comprehensive master plan should be prepared proactively. The plan would be helpful for extending the city’s metro network to important areas such as ISBT Heerapura, Jagatpura, Bagrana (Agra Road) and Amera. These developments would be helpful for the state to bring an influx of foreign as well as domestic tourists in the country. Moreover, the developments are also likely to improve local and regional connectivity.
The Rajasthan CM also reviewed the progress of ongoing metro works, including Phase-1D (Mansarovar–Ajmer Road Crossing), Phase-1C (Badi Chaupar–Transport Nagar) and Phase-2.
The meeting was attended by top officials including Commissioner of the Jaipur Development Authority Siddharth Mahajan, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Akhil Arora, Principal Secretary (Finance) and Managing Director of Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation Limited Vaibhav Galriya and other officials from Jaipur Metro and JDA.
