Weather Update: Heavy rainfall wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh. This resulted in landslides, long traffic jams, and even resulted in the death of 9 people. The situation was not so better even today.
The Jammu-Srinagar highway was completely blocked and the army was issued to divert the traffic. IMD had to issue a red alert in 7 districts of Himachal Pradesh including Manali.
On the other side, IMD increased Northern states from a yellow alert to an Orange alert. The conditions worsened on Sunday and IMD stated that the trend will continue for a few more days like this. Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh came under Orange Alert.
Weather Update: Delhi
Pragati Maidan, Nehru Nagar, Panchsheel Marg, Kalkaji, and ITO for waterlogged due to heavy rain on Sunday. The monsoon will continue to rain down on the National capital for almost five more days. Today’s temperature will be between 29 degrees to 25 degrees.
Mumbai
Mumbai suffered moderate to heavy rainfall in isolated areas. IMD has predicted the possibility of intense rainfall over selected areas in the upcoming days. The temperature will be between 29 degrees and 27 degrees today.
Chennai
Chennai will face heavy rainfall today as well. The residents might get a few days’ breaks from the monsoon after Monday before rainfall re-entering the state by the weekend. The temperature will be between 33 degrees and 27 degrees with heavy rainfall.
Kolkata
IMD has predicted rain in Kolkata till 15 July. Monsoon entered late in West Bengal but it is now here to stay. Moderate rain with thundershowers is expected at several places in South Bengal including Kolkata. A yellow alert has been issued for these areas with the temperature will be between 32 degrees and 27 degrees.
