1x Betting Case: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) of India has seized properties of celebrities including Sonu Sood, Neha Sharma, Yuvraj Singh and Robin Uthappa in the 1xBet illegal betting app case, as per ABP Live.
ED seized properties worth Rs. 2.5 crores of Yuvraj Singh, Rs. 1 crore of Sonu Sood, Rs. 1.26 crore of Neha Sharma and Rs. 8.26 lakhs of Robin Uthappa. Others included: 2.02 crores of Urvashi Rautela, Rs 59 lakhs of Mimi Chakraborty, and Rs 47.20 crores of Ankush Hazara.
Previously, ED had attached assets worth Rs. 4.55 crore linked to cricketer Shikhar Dhawan and Rs. 6.64 crore associated with former India batter Suresh Raina.
1xBetting Case: Who All Were Questioned?
The 1xBet illegal betting app case pertains to alleged money laundering that was unearthed by ED.
Previously, ED had summoned Robin Uthappa on September 22, Yuvraj Singh on September 23 and Sonu Sood on September 24. Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan was also summoned along with many others. Bengali actor Ankush Hazra and former MP Mimi Chakraborty were also questioned.
In the past, former cricketer Suresh Raina was also questioned by the ED in the 1xBet case.
It was claimed by the 1xBet India website that the company provides a wide range of sports betting options to its registered users. It listed games like Aviator Game Online, Cricket betting line and Online Casino Slots. The company used to accept bets through Telegram payments on sporting events such as football, basketball, cricket, tennis and e-sports.
The app’s company has its base in Cyprus.
