AB De Villiers: AB De Villiers is one of the scariest batsmen in the world. When he is in form, no bowler is safe. And when he announced his retirement in 2021, it was a sad day for the whole cricketing world.

After all, he was one of the most loved cricketers in the world. And as a matter of fact, he still is. The nickname of Mr.360 Degrees is not something to take lightly. The love that the Ex-South African batsman gets in India is unmeasurable.

In a recent interview with Robin Uthhapa on Jio Cinema he stated his reason for retirement and what would he like to do if he ever comes back. He also stated the three toughest bowlers he faced in his career and the answer might surprise you.

Toughest Bowler He Faced

AB De Villers stated the three toughest bowlers he ever faced were Shane Warne, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rashid Khan. He has faced all three bowlers multiple times on either the international stage or in domestic franchise cricket.

He faced Shane Warne in an international match in 2006. The Proteas batsman hit 60 runs in that match but stated that Warne always had a number on him. He praised how Warne made his life difficult and noticed even small details of his batting.

On the other hand, he stated that Jasprit Bumrah and Rashid Khan’s competitiveness made them the toughest bowlers. He stated that both bowlers were fearless and determined and never backed down from a fight.

Best In The World

On the other hand, De Villiers also stated that he would like to make a comeback if possible and wants to compete with Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav on the biggest stage. He also stated that the impact player rule might help to stretch the careers of many players.

But he also stated that he does not approve of the rule. As he believes that playing for only 3 months will not amount to being the best in the world. South African batsman further stated that he always wanted to be the best in the world and when that drive dimmed out, he took the decision to retire.
