Andy Murray in Nottingham Open: Andy Murray won his seventh consecutive match on the grass to qualify for the quarterfinal of the Nottingham Open. The three-time grand slam champion was in fine form and did not struggle much while defeating France's Hugo Grenier in straight sets.
Murray won his first tournament last week since 2016. He is looking to add a second title to his name before returning to Queens. The two-time Wimbledon champion is looking at these competitions to cement his place as a top player and essentially as a preparation for Wimbledon.
Andy Murray's career suffered a huge loss when he had to get his hip resurfacing operation in 2018. But since his return, Murray has been finding his form slowly and steadily. It looks like the 36-year-old will return to his best in the grandest grass tournament.
Murray stated that playing against the top opponents has been tough, but it has been helping him get to his best again. He was positive about his performance and ensured everyone that he would return to his best when Wimbledon comes around.
Murray acknowledged that his physical condition has been improving daily, and he is ready to face new challenges. He further stated that playing against the players in the Top 10 ranking will be even more difficult, but he is excited about that.
