AUS VS NZ ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Australian openers were on fire at Dharamshala on Saturday. Travis Head and David Warner were scoring runs for fun and were smacking every bowler for fun.

They needed some kind of miracle as the Aussies’ openers had made 175 runs in just 19 overs. They were looking at a 450+ score and that is when Glenn Phillips came onto the attack and made the miracle happen.

He took three wickets and proved to everyone that he is the bowler with a golden arm for the Kiwis. It was a much-needed relief for the Kiwis until they started smashing boundaries for fun again.

The Man With Golden Arm

Phillips came on to the attack in the 20th over and immediately got rid of David Warner. It was a much-needed breakthrough for the Kiwis as Warner was nearing his century and was looking dangerous.

After that, Phillips clean bowled Travis Head who was playing a dream innings at an individual score of 109. It was an amazing ball that got rid of Travis, one which confused him completely.

Steve Smith and Mitchell Marsh tried to form a partnership after that but Phillips did not let that happen. He got rid of Smith who has looked dodgy this whole tournament and Phillips made sure he won’t go this time as well.

AUS VS NZ ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Record Run Chase Needed

Even after the heroics of Glenn Phillips, Australians were able to make 388 runs in 49.2 overs. It was a weird innings as the Aussies were all over the Kiwis but even got all out before 50 overs.

But if New Zealand wants to win this match, a record run chase is needed as a score this high has never been chased at Dharamshala.
