Naim starts mental training for Asia Cup 2023
A left-handed opening batter, Naim, has shared a video on his social media account depicting an unconventional training approach he’s adopted to strengthen his mental toughness. In the video, Naim is observed walking on fire under the guidance of Sabit Rayhan, who plays a significant role in this distinct form of ‘mind-training.’ In his post, Naim expressed gratitude to his Bangladeshi teammates, Taskin Ahmed, and Nurul Hasan Sohan.
Rayham, known for his expertise in mind training, previously associated with the Rangpur Riders in the previous season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Mohammad Naim has encountered challenges in international cricket. Having debuted in ODI matches earlier this year in March, the 23-year-old has participated in a mere four matches. Despite a modest performance, accumulating only 10 runs across three innings, Naim has been designated as the top-choice opener for the Asia Cup 2023.

Ranked 7th in the standings, Bangladesh is poised to face Sri Lanka on August 31st. Positioned in group B of the Asia Cup, the Tigers are grouped alongside Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Interestingly, this group configuration mirrors that of the previous year, where Bangladesh concluded their group stage with zero wins across two matches, placing third in their group.
