CSK vs KKR IPL 2023

CSK vs KKR IPL 2023: Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) took on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Despite facing a heavy defeat in their previous match, KKR decided to stick with their spin combination of Varun Chakaravarthy, Suyash Sharma, and Sunil Narine. Among the KKR bowlers, Sunil Narine had performed well in the previous game, demonstrating better control over his line and length.

Moeen Ali turns the tide

In the powerplay overs, the home team made a solid start, accumulating 52 runs while losing only one wicket. Varun Chakaravarthy, the enigmatic spinner, played a crucial role by taking two important wickets, dismissing Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ajinkya Rahane. These dismissals swung the momentum back in favour of the visiting team.

After 10 overs, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had reached a total of 68 runs with three wickets down. Sunil Narine took the ball for the 11th over and made an immediate impact. On the first delivery, he clean bowled Ambati Rayudu, who was struggling for form. Moeen Ali replaced Rayudu at the crease, but Narine wasn’t done yet. On the last ball of the over, Narine changed his angle and bowled a carrom ball, which dislodged Moeen’s stumps. Narine’s double breakthrough put Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in a commanding position. Sunil Narine perplexed the batsmen and deprived them of any room to manoeuvre. Moeen Ali, having faced just two deliveries, fell victim to Narine’s guile and was dismissed after scoring a run.
