DC vs KKR IPL 2023: During the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC), Anrich Nortje, the fast bowler of Delhi Capitals, managed to dismiss Venkatesh Iyer, the in-form batsman of KKR, for a duck, which proved to be an early setback for KKR. He scored a century in the last match.
Venkatesh Iyer out for duck
Venkatesh Iyer slammed a stunning 104 runs knock off 52 balls, which was also just the century ever by a KKR batter. Brendon McCullum was the first KKR player to score a century, which came in the first ever match of IPL, where he scored 158* against RCB. Thus, his knock was historic, even though it came in a losing cause against MI.
Despite scoring a remarkable century in the previous game against Mumbai Indians, Iyer was unable to make a significant contribution to this match, as he was caught by Mitchell Marsh at slip off a short and rapid delivery on the offside bowled by Nortje. He was dismissed for a duck just on his second ball, which left fans disappointed.
