Delhi Capitals beat Mumbai Indians in a close-clash

Delhi Capitals won a close encounter against Mumbai Indians in Match 46 of the Indian Premier League by 4 wickets. Mumbai batted first and set the target of 130 runs in front of Delhi who are second in the points table.

Avesh Khan and Axar Patel were the top performers for Delhi with their figures of 3/15 and 3/21.

At one stage in the low chase, Delhi were six down but later Ravichandran Ashwin and Shreyas Iyer had an unbeaten partnership of 39 runs to guide their team to ninth victory of the season and make their case stronger for the playoffs.

Apart from Iyer and Ashwin , skipper Rishabh Pant (26) also played a vital knock for Delhi.

Mumbai Indians: 129/8 in 20 overs (Suryakumar Yadav 33; Avesh Khan 3/15, Axar Patel 3/21) lost to Delhi Capitals 132-6 in 19.1 overs (Shreyas Iyer 33, Rishabh Pant 26; Krunal Pandya 1/18).
