Dinesh Karthik Thank you for saving me.. When the veteran finisher thanked Ashwin for doing this Watch Video

Dinesh Karthik: Due to the several twists and turns that occurred in the last over of the recent India vs. Pakistan game on Sunday, it will live long in the memories of cricket fans everywhere.

Any cricket rule you can think of—one run, two runs, three runs, four runs, wide ball, no ball, free hit, catch, clean bowled, run out, stumping—was broken in the last over. Indian batsmen Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli were in the centre of the storm and had the enormous job of scoring 16 runs in that over, which was delivered by Mohammad Nawaz.

Dinesh Karthik was sent in to bat after India lost Hardik Pandya in the first delivery of the over, but he was removed when India needed two runs off the final two balls. Nawaz stumped Karthik, and Ravichandran Ashwin entered the middle.

The cunning veteran made advantage of his expertise by choosing not to chase for Nawaz’s subsequent ball, which resulted in a wide. As Melbourne Cricket Ground roared, Ashwin scooped the ball over the inner circle with one required off the final delivery and rushed to the other end with his arms aloft.

“Thank you for saving me yesterday… Cool and calm,” said Karthik to a beaming Ashwin in the video.

Karthik praised Ashwin for saving him in a recent video that was posted to the BCCI Twitter account and showed the India squad arriving in Sydney for their upcoming match against the Netherlands.
