ENG vs PAK: Embarassing ! Skipper Ben Stokes insulted on-field after he tries doing THIS with Pakistani batter | Watch video

ENG vs PAK: In the second Multan Test, England defeated Pakistan by 26 runs to secure the three-match series with a commanding 2-0 lead thanks to Mark Wood’s four wicket haul. Pakistan, who needed to win by 355 runs, put up a valiant effort but was eventually bowled out for 328, their third straight home Test loss after a setback to Australia earlier this year.

When Pakistan started the day at 198/4, it appeared that things were going well because Saud Shakeel and Imam-Ul-Haq each scored a half-century and put together a valiant 80-run partnership. However, once both batters were dismissed in quick succession, it was always going to be difficult.

Pakistani tailender refused to shake hands

The rearguard of Shakeel and Imam kept Pakistan’s chances of victory alive, but Wood’s ferocious spell to eliminate both on Day 4 just before lunch moved England to the verge of victory. Pakistan fell from 210/5 to 319/9, and when Ollie Robinson had Mohammad Ali nicking to Ollie Pope, the match was over. Ali signalled the “T” abruptly and chose DRS despite the risk; after all, why not? But it does nothing more than add a few seconds to the celebration in England.

Nevertheless, Stokes quickly approached Ali to shake his hand while the DRS was being taken and the third umpire was going through the procedure. The No. 11 batsman for Pakistan, nevertheless, steadfastly declined. The England captain backed down when the referee mumbled a few things to Stokes, possibly informing him that the verdict hadn’t yet appeared on the big screen. But as soon as the signal came, there were the normal handshakes, and Ali praised Stokes and England for winning.

With this victory, England now has back-to-back Test victories in Pakistan for the first time ever. At the start of the day, Pakistan needed 157 runs to win and England had taken 6 wickets. In the end, it was the latter that was successful, and Stokes was really grateful for the effort he and his team put.
