Iga Swiatek wins 4th Grand Slam title
In a fiercely contested final, she emerges victorious against Karolina Muchova after three gruelling sets. Securing her third Roland Garros crown, the reigning World No. 1 now shares the same number of titles at the French Open as tennis legend Serena Williams. Furthermore, she becomes the first woman since Justine Henin in 2007 to successfully defend the prestigious Roland Garros crown.
Swiatek added another remarkable achievement to her name as she became the first woman since Belgium’s Justine Henin in 2007 to secure consecutive French Open titles, following her triumphs in 2020 and 2022. The Polish tennis sensation continued to etch her name in the record books by becoming the youngest player since Serena Williams to win a fourth Grand Slam title, a feat previously achieved by Williams in 1999 (US Open), 2002 (French Open, Wimbledon, US Open). Swiatek’s impressive collection of major titles includes three French Open victories (2020, 2022, 2023) and one US Open triumph in 2023.
