GT vs RR IPL 2023: In the 23rd match of the Indian Premier League, Rajasthan Royals has defeated Gujarat Titans at their home ground Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad by a margin of 3 wickets. Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to field first. This decision didn't go much in their favour as GT scored 177/7 in 20 overs. In response, Rajasthan Royals did not have a great start but Sanju Samson and Hetmyer's heroic effort led their team across the victory line with 4 balls to spare.

Hetmyer and Sanju Shine in the chase
Coming into the chase of 178, Rajasthan Royals did not have an ideal start. They lost both their openers, Yashasvi Jaiswal (1 off 7) and Jos Buttler (0 off 5) in just three overs with just 4 runs on board. Devdutt Padikkal carried the inning forward with a valiant knock of 26 in 25 balls while Riyan Parag once again flattered in the innings, scoring just 5 off 7 balls.
However, captain Sanju Samson then stepped in the shoes and played a crucial knock of 60 runs off 32 balls, hitting three boundaries and six maximums. Shimron Hetmyer played a knock of 56* in 26 balls, hitting two boundaries and five maximums and played until the last ball. Dhruv Jurel also smashed crucial 18 runs off 10 balls at the end. R Ashwin came in the second last over and slammed much-needed 10 runs in just three balls, hitting a boundary and a maximum in his knock. Rashid Khan and Mohammed Shami picked a couple of wickets while Hardik and impact player Noor picked a wicket each as well.

Earlier, Sanju Samson led Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to field first in the game. Opener Wriddhiman Saha was dismissed in the first over of the game on a score of 4 runs in 3 balls. Shubman Gill, then, led on the charge and stabilised the innings with a score of 45 runs in 34 balls. David Miller played a crucial and quick-fire knock of 46 runs in 30 balls, ensuring his team gets to a respectable total.
Skipper Hardik Pandya scored 28 off 19 balls, while Sai Sudharsan slammed 20 runs in 19 balls. Sandeep Sharma picked a couple of wickets while Boult, Zampa, and Chahal grabbed a wicket each as well. The team had scored 42 runs in the powerplay while losing two wickets.
