ICC Rankings: Both Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill have been rewarded for their continuous good performance in the ODI format. They were long due after tons of good performances under their bat and finally, they have received it.
The best friend duo has been performing in the Blue jersey for a while now. Ishan is red hot right now with 4 consecutive half-centuries in the ODIs. While Shubman Gill has been struggling for form since last month, he has been phenomenal in 2023.
Ishan Kishan made a fighting 82 runs in 81 deliveries against Pakistan when the top order collapsed. While Gill got his form back against Nepal and scored a brilliant and quick half-century and we hope it remains like that.
Massive Jump In ICC Rankings
Just 4 weeks ago, The Gujarat Titans’ opener achieved his career-best ranking of 4 in ODIs. And earlier today, on Wednesday, he jumped one place upwards and entered into the top 3 of ODIs. Now, he is only behind Babar Azam and Rassie van der Dussen from South Africa.
Ishan Kishan was also rewarded for his amazing performances since his inclusion in the team and took a massive jump of 12 places in the rankings. He is now ranked 24th in the ICC Rankings ODIs and will jump even more if he continues his performances.
Indian Domination
It is not just players ranking that the Indian team is climbing in. The Men In Blues remains at the top of the ICC Test and T20i team ranking. They are also third in the ODIs team ranking with just 5 points behind Number 1 Pakistan. If India can win the Asia Cup 2023, they might take a huge jump in the ODI rankings.
