Igor Stimac Reveals 26 Probables For FIFA World Cup Qualifiers! Hopeful For Qualification? Read Here

The final two matches will be tough and will demand everything from these Indian players. The first list of probables are out and the squad is looking pretty balanced.

FIFA World Cup: Indian men’s team head coach Igor Stimac has announced the first list of 26 probable players for the remaining World Cup qualifier matches. The Croatian has made a balanced selection and included 4 I-League players.

The final two matches of the preliminary Joint Qualification Round 2 will be against Kuwait and Qatar. The Head Coach will announce the second list of probable in the upcoming days very soon.

The 26 probable are supposed to be part of a training camp in Bhubaneshwar, Odhisa on May 10. The Blue Tigers will face Kuwait in Kolkata on June 6 and will travel to Doha to face Qatar on June 11.

Tough Road Ahead

India is currently in second position in Group A with 4 points in 4 matches. After winning their first match against Kuwait in November 2023, India faced major setbacks in their qualification hope.

The win was followed by a 3-0 defeat to Qatar followed by a draw against Afghanistan. The Blue Tigers suffered a 2-1 loss against Afghanistan in the reverse fixture in Guwahati. Even after these setbacks, India is in second position.

If they can accumulate three points against Kuwait on June 6, they will be able to qualify for the third round of the qualifiers. The matches will be tough and traveling will also play a major role going forward.
