IND vs AUS: On Sunday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced an 18-member ODI squad for the three-match series against Australia, with Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, missing the first ODI due to personal reasons. In his absence, the regular vice-captain, Hardik Pandya, will lead the team during the series opener.
Jayadev Unadkat added to the squad
The three ODI matches will take place in Mumbai, Vizag, and Chennai. Additionally, Jaydev Undakat, who was not selected for the Ranji Trophy squad, returned for the final two Tests against Australia and has been brought back into the ODI setup after a 9-year absence. The Test teams remain unchanged, except for the addition of Unadkat.
Despite his lacklustre performances in the first two Tests, opener and vice-captain KL Rahul has been included in the Indian Test squad for the last two Tests against Australia, which will take place in Indore and Ahmedabad next month. It was widely anticipated that fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah would not be selected for either squad, as team management and the board do not wish to risk rushing his comeback.
