IND vs NZ: Ahead of the thrilling clash, skipper Kane and Shikhar share light-hearted banter | Watch video

IND vs NZ: The three-match T20I series against the hosts, New Zealand, was won by Team India 1-0 to start off the season well. Now that stand-in captain Shikhar Dhawan has taken the helm, the Men in Blue are ready to start their One-Day Internationals (ODIs) campaign. On November 25, the opening game of the three-match ODI series will take place. Captain Kane Williamson has returned to duty, which is a fantastic news for the Kiwis.

BCCI posts a video of skippers

Before the first ODI, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a video of some lighthearted banter between the captains of the two teams with the caption, “Smiles, friendly banter & the trophy unveil!” on Twitter. The video is rapidly going viral on the internet.

Both the skippers are seen in the video doing banter with each other and talking about the series in general. After that, towards the end of the video, both the captains posed as the trophy was unveiled. The duo share a great bond as they played for same team in the IPL, SRH.

Key players to miss the IND vs NZ ODI series

Similar to the T20Is, the ODI squad is also without KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, three of India’s top players. The squad includes some young players like Sanju Samson, Umran Malik, Washington Sundar, and Deepak Chahar.

Cricket fans anticipate that Samson and Malik, who were hot favourites to play in the T20I series but were denied a chance, will finally have the chance to demonstrate their talent on the big stage. For the ODI series, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have all received rest. India went on to win the T20I series by 1-0 after the third match’s outcome was determined by DLS method after rain halted the play.
