IND vs NZ: India defeat New Zealand by 168 runs to register the biggest win in T20Is. Chasing the target of 235 runs, India blundled Kiwis at 66 runs. Stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya was the pick of the Indian bowlers with his four-wicket haul whole Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Mavi picked two wickets apiece. Daryl Mitchell was the top scorer from New Zealand side with his 35 runs while Mitchell Santner got 13 runs off the bat.

Earlier, Shubman Gill scored 126 runs, to guide India to a mammoth total of 234 runs. Rahul Tripathi also scored 44 runs with a strike rate of 200. Gill’s knock of 126 runs is also India’s highest individual score in T20Is.

“It feels good when you practice and it pays off. I was backing myself to score big. Didn’t happen in the Sri Lanka series, but happy to see it work out now. Everybody has a different technique to hit sixes. Hardik bhai told me to play my game, not do anything extra and he kept backing me. When you represent your country, there is no fatigue. It was my dream to play for India, and I am very fortunate to be part of the team in all three formats,” said Gill at post-match presentation.
