IND vs NZ: Shubman Gill hits 6,6,6 as he notches off double-century, becomes youngest-ever to achieve rare feat | Watch Video

IND vs NZ: Shubman Gill has silenced off his critics after notching off a magnificent double century against New Zealand on Wednesday. The star opener scored 208 runs off 149 balls in his innings. During the innings, he scored 19 fours and 9 sixes. He is also the youngest ever to reach the milestone. Also, not to forget that he scored off his double century in style as he smashed three consecutive sixes to reach the threshold.

The batsman produced some amazing batting in the first ODI match against New Zealand by reaching a double century. Gill attacked the Kiwis and scored one of the quickest ODI double centuries. He also broke the record for the quickest Indian to 1,000 runs in ODIs. The hitter for the Gujarat Titans completed it in just 145 balls, scoring 19 fours and 8 sixes.

Shubman Gill recorded his second one-day international century on Sunday. Three days later, Gill picked up the pace once more, hitting some beautiful shots on his way to his third hundred. He found a capable companion in Hardik Pandya before a strong alliance was severed in questionable circumstances.

After then, India lost a couple of fast wickets, but Shubman Gill, who had to wait patiently for more frequent opportunities to come his way, was unstoppable. He had performed well for India in the Under-19 World Cup in 2018 and was frequently mentioned as the upcoming star of Indian cricket.
