IPL 2024 GT vs RCB: After an astonishing victory over Hyderabad, RCB has been dominant against Gujarat Titans as well. They have restricted their scoring and are fielding like their lives are dependent on it.
The fielding has been so tight today and Gujarat batsmen are finding it hard to score boundaries. It looks like a completely different side from what we have seen so far in IPL 2024.
Cameron Green is one of the best fielders in the world right now. He has already taken a blinder in this IPL. That was one of the best catches of the tournament and he repeated a similar feat once again.
Flying Cameron Green
During the seventh over of the innings, Shubman Gill decided to take on returning Glenn Maxwell. The runs were slow and the Gujarat skipper decided that this was the right time to take the charge.
Unfortunately, he was not able to connect the ball well. It was still a safe shot as there was no fielder in that area. But when you have Green as a fielder, no type of catch is impossible.
Standing as a wide long on, Green covered a lot of distance, before diving in front. He expertly stopped his momentum and grabbed the ball while in the air. It was a sight to behold that left Shubman Gill speechless.
Justifying His Price Tag
RCB traded Cameron Green from Mumbai Indians earlier this year for 17.5 crore. That was almost half of RCB’s purse. So far, Green has been criticized for his bad performances and not living up to the price tag.
But in the last few matches, we have seen that vintage Cameron Green coming back in form. It might be too late for RCB this season, but it is a very great sign considering the long future.
Green can be a player around which a T20 team can be built. If RCB management thinks they can easily build a team around Green next year during the Mega Auction.
