The former South African skipper joined the Chennai Super Kings sister team Texas Super Kings in the MLC. He is ready to form a new opening partnership with current CSK opener Devon Conway. Conway was the Man Of The Match in the finals of IPL 2023 and was a pivotal part of CSK for the campaign.

Everyone knows the bond that Faf and Rutu shared. Both of them were instrumental in CSK winning IPL 2021. Since CSK did not retain Faf in 2022, Conway became the new opening partner of Ruturaj. Both of them have been impressive as well.
But everyone in the CSK dugout still misses the former South African skipper. And even Devon Conway knows that. In the interview, he stated that it was great to bat alongside Faf in the practice match and he is excited to play alongside him.
“I know Rutu is going to be a little bit jealous, but yeah it was great batting with him, just watching him go about his business”. Conway further poked Ruturaj Gaikwad. You can see Conway and Faf on July 13 in Texas Super Kings’ first match of Major League Cricket.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been selected in the Indian squad for the upcoming West Indies series. And according to various reports, he can make his debut in the first match alongside another youngster Yashaswi Jaiswal.
It will be a huge opportunity for Gaikwad as the Indian team is in a phase of reshuffle right now. If he can perform, the chances of him cementing his place in the squad increase.
