Team India has been struggling with number of injuries in the ongoing tour of Bangladesh. Shami has been in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and reports from there are not encouraging for him.
According to a report, the NCA staff will draw a roadmap for veteran bowler’s recovery and rehab. At this stage, there is no clear information on his comeback. The Indian team is already struggling in the ODIs in Bangladesh and the absence of Shami will be a big blow for the visitors ahead of the Test series.

So far no replacement has been named even more than 30 players are in Bangladesh currently including the India A squad. The Indian team will be free to retain any player.
Siraj, Thakur and Umran are available for selection, said the selection committe to a source.
With Rohit Sharma being unfit for the first Test, KL Rahul is set to lead the team.
