Pele’s health update: “I am strong, with lot of hope,” says Brazil’s great in latest Instagram post

Pele’s health update: According to a recent medical update on Sunday, Brazil’s great Pele is in stable condition and responding well to treatment for a respiratory infection. The revelation comes just hours after a newspaper in Sao Paulo reported that Pele had ceased responding to chemotherapy and had been transferred to palliative care as part of his cancer treatment.

Pele later turned to Instagram to declare he is “strong” and is “following his treatment with a lot of hope.” The iconic footballer also asked fans to continue rooting for Brazil during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
“My friends, I want to keep everyone calm and positive. I’m strong, with a lot of hope and I follow my treatment as usual. I want to thank the entire medical and nursing team for all the care I have received,” Pele stated.

“I have a lot of faith in God and every message of love I receive from you all over the world keeps me full of energy. And watch Brazil in the World Cup too!

“Thank you so much for everything,” he continued.

Here is the post that Pele shared on Instagram

According to the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, Pele was shifted to palliative care and was only being treated for symptoms such as discomfort and shortness of breath. It further stated that when Pele was taken to the hospital last week to re-evaluate his cancer therapy, he felt widespread edoema and shortness of breath. Notably, the renowned footballer stated a few days ago on Instagram that he was at the hospital for a ‘monthly checkup.’
According to the most recent update from Sao Paulo’s Albert Einstein Hospital, 82-year-old Pele responded well to treatment for a respiratory infection found this week, and his condition has not worsened in the last 24 hours. According to sources, his boss, family members, and the hospital have not corroborated that information.

He had a tumour removed from his intestines in September 2021 and has been undergoing regular hospital treatment since then.

“He is still receiving treatment and is in stable condition,” said the medical personnel.
