Shahid Afridi: India has become the first cricket team ever to win the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup two times in a row. Several Pakistani greats such as Shahid Afridi, Rameez Raza, Shoaib Akhtar and Tanveer Ahmed praised the Indian team for their superlative performance.
Shahid Afridi: Amazing Team Performance
Former Pakistani cricket captain Afridi remarked that Team India played like a bunch of beasts that were literally unbeatable. Afridi appreciated the Indian team’s approach, overall playing skills and infrastructure that has made them the top team to beat.
Former Pakistani great Wasim Akram also praised the Indian team for their exceptional batting, bowling and fielding skills and said that everyone in the team performed.
Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez wished team India on their stunning victory. Hafeez remarked that the cricket system of India unlike Pakistan is highly strong and this is the primary reason why they are literally unbeatable on every cricket surface of the world.

Sanju Samson Equals Afridi’s Record
India’s dashing right-handed opener Sanju Samson equalled the 17-year-old record of Afridi after scoring a half-century in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 final against New Zealand.
The 31-year-old from Kerala scored his third consecutive half-century after scoring half-centuries earlier against West Indies and England.
Samson became only the third player overall to score a half-century in the semi-final and final of a men’s T20 World Cup, joining Virat Kohli and Afridi.
Afridi achieved the feat in the 2009 edition while Kohli achieved it in the 2014 edition.
