Rishabh Pant

Even though, Rishabh Pant is progressing at a rapid rate, it looks like his return has been delayed quite a bit. Find out here

Rishabh Pant: The good news for every Indian cricket fan is that the hero of Gabba might be closer than ever to returning to the cricket field. The left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman is loved dearly by every cricket fan.

The batsman got into a fatal car accident last year in December and is still recovering from that. The keeper had to go into subsequent knee ligament reconstruction surgery and is still in rehab.

Pant got back into some kind of cricket action when he played a local match in NCA. He has been recovering there for a while now and a probable date has been planned for him to return to the national side.

Rishabh Pant Comeback

Earlier, it was deemed that the left-handed batsman will make his return during the South Africa series in December. But even though Pant is recovering at a rapid speed, it is far-fetched.

According to new reports, Pant is planning to return during the Afghanistan series in January. As the left-handed batsman has to play domestic cricket before that to get back into the match fitness and regain his confidence.

A senior from BCCI stated “It’s still early days. It’s good that he has been batting in the nets. But he still needs some more time. He will have to go back to domestic cricket and gain the confidence back. Probably, if everything goes well, a return could be possible against Afghanistan. But again, it’s not certain yet.”

Training At NCA

Pant has been recovering and rehabbing at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. VVS Laxman and the BCCI Medical team are personally tracking his recovery and monitoring it We all hope that the batsman is back into action as soon as possible.
