RR vs SRH IPL 2023: Debutant’s hilarious misfield leaves everyone in splits! Ball passes in between his legs for four, Watch

RR vs SRH IPL 2023: The Indian Premier League (IPL) stands as one of the most significant platforms in the game, capable of unsettling even the most prominent stars, let alone a debutant. Going up against the world’s best players and performing in front of a raucous crowd can undoubtedly present a formidable challenge for the players, and Vivrant Sharma would without a doubt agree to that.

Debutant’s hilarious fail

During the clash between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, the 23-year-old all-rounder marked his IPL debut on Sunday, May 7. Unfortunately, in the very first over of the match, he committed a significant error. Not only did he misjudge a catch, but he also allowed the ball to pass between his legs, resulting in a boundary.

On the fourth delivery of the opening over, Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled an inswinger directed at the pads of the in-form opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal. Attempting a flick shot, the left-handed batsman failed to clear the boundary for a six and also couldn’t keep the shot grounded.

The trajectory of the ball seemed to be heading straight into the waiting hands of Vivrant Sharma, but to the disappointment of the debutant, it turned into a fumbled opportunity. The SRH newcomer completely misjudged the catch, failing to take a few simple steps forward to secure the straightforward catch. Instead, he needlessly complicated the situation by misreading the line entirely. He not only missed making contact with the ball but also allowed it to land just in front of him. Adding to his woes, the ball slipped through his legs, resulting in a boundary and compounding the error. RR ended up scoring 214/2 in 20 overs.
