RR vs SRH IPL 2023: Jos Buttler has found his lost form in IPL 2023 once again as he slammed 95 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Sanju Samson opted to bat first after winning the toss and opener Buttler did not disappoint him as he almost scored a century, falling short by only five runs.
Jos Buttler cruises with 95-run knock
Although Buttler had a slow start, he managed to forge a 54-run opening partnership with Yashaswi Jaiswal. Rajasthan Royals (RR) reached a score of 61/1 in the first six overs. Later on, Buttler formed a crucial century-plus partnership alongside captain Sanju Samson.
In this match, Jos Buttler regained his form and achieved his fourth fifty of the IPL 2023 season. While he had a promising start to the tournament, he faced some challenges in scoring runs in a few matches. However, Buttler showcased his class and played some impressive shots in this particular game. He reached his fifty off 32 deliveries, hitting five fours and two sixes along the way.
Buttler appeared well-set to reach his sixth IPL century and equal Chris Gayle’s record, but Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed him LBW. Nevertheless, Buttler’s knock of 95 runs was filled with 10 fours and four sixes, striking at a rate of 161.02. He shared a solid partnership of 138 runs with Samson, contributing significantly to RR’s total of over 200 runs. In the IPL 2023 season, Buttler has accumulated 388 runs from 11 games, maintaining an average of 38.79.
