SL vs BAN Asia Cup 2023: Just when we thought that Bangladesh might make a comeback, Sri Lankan team pressed down the stabiliser and took the advantage away from the tigers.

After a exceptional start, Sri Lanka team went into a slump as Shoriful Islam two quick wickets to halt their momentum. Taskin Ahmed and Hasam Mahmud took another two wickets to completely turn the match in Bangladesh’s favour.

But Sadeera Samarawickrama had other ideas as he marched on the pitch when disaster was already afoot. But he took on the challenge and scored a brilliant and quick half century to stabilise the innings.

Sadeera To The Rescue

Sadeera was brilliant from the first delivery. He knew that he not only has to score runs but has to do it quickly. The strike rate was plummeting down very quickly and that is when he took charge.

He dispatched every bowler for boundaries and rotated the strike beautifully. He rarely played a dot ball and lead a brilliant partnership with captain Dasun Sanaka. With six boundaries to his name he completed his half century in just 45 deliveries.

We all know how dangerous he can be at the death overs. And even though Sanaka was dismissed after getting set on the pitch, Sadeera can lead the Lankans. He is a good hitter of the ball.

SL vs BAN Asia Cup 2023: Thrilling Finale Ahead
