T20 World Cup: With a devastating 10-wicket loss to England in the quarterfinals on Thursday, the Indian cricket team's run in the ICC T20 World Cup came to an end. India is yet to win an ICC championship, having last claimed a major trophy in 2013, when MS Dhoni served as captain and the team won the ICC Champions Trophy.

The Indian team has recently faced harsh criticism for its strategies in T20 cricket, and the management's decision to stick with its old practises has not been successful.

BCCI preparing for the 2024 T20 World Cup

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to make significant changes over the next two years in preparation for the 2024 T20 WC, which would be held in the Americas, according to BCCI sources.

The likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Shami, among other veteran players, won't be a part of the short-format plan for very long.

ICC World Cup in Australia may mark the end of the road for experienced wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik in T20Is as sources claim that he is also not a part of the long-term strategy.

The T20 careers of senior players like him, captain Rohit Sharma, opener KL Rahul, and star batter Virat Kohli remain in doubt. Experienced paceman Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who also had a mediocre performance in Australia, is included in the upcoming series in New Zealand.

The T20 setup needs a major revision since India's current approach to the format, which appears outdated, must be changed soon.
