T20I World Cup 2022: Five players who are expected to outshine others in the upcoming tournament

T20I World Cup 2022: With T20 World Cup 2022 just around the corner, the excitement of fans is getting notched above daily. In the meantime, The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released a list of five players that are expected to give terrific performance, based on their recent form. India’s star batter Suryakumar Yadav has found the place in the list as well.

Five players picked by ICC are:

1. Suryakumar Yadav (India)

Suryakumar Yadav made a remarkable comeback in 2022, and he is currently perhaps the most crucial member of Rohit Sharma’s powerful team. At the T20 World Cup last year, Yadav only managed to play four times for India, and his pitiful total of 42 runs from three innings barely raised an eyebrow.

He is currently ranked as the No. 2 T20I batter in the world according to the most recent rankings list.

2. Mohammed Rizwan (Pakistan)

Currently ranked as the No. 1 T20I batter in the world, he is the most important batsman for his team right now.

For Pakistan to win the tournament in Australia, Rizwan’s consistency at the top of the order will be essential, and the 30-year-old will be striving to match the superb performances he turned in with the bat in the previous competition. Rizwan was the only player to score more heavily than the right-hander throughout the 2021 T20 World Cup, scoring three half centuries and 281 runs overall at an average of 70.

3. Jos Buttler (England)

The England captain is now dealing with a calf ailment, but it is anticipates that his recovery will be in time to lead the charge for the 2010 champions.

Buttler has been in good form since a year; at the tournament in the UAE and Oman last year, the 32-year-old was the only player to record a century.

Buttler looked to be in even better form during this year’s IPL when he reached triple figures on four occasions and scored a whopping 863 runs for Rajasthan Royals. He hit a brilliant unbeaten 101* against Sri Lanka in Sharjah.

4. David Warner (Australia)

Only Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan, scored more runs than Warner at the previous competition, and the Australian veteran is typically a far better player at home.

Warner scored three half-centuries in the previous year’s event, and his 289 runs at a remarkable strike rate of over 150 were among the best among the top players.

5. Wanindu Hasaranga (Sri Lanka)

The Sri Lankan all-rounder has previously demonstrated the capacity to save his finest work for the biggest stage, so it stands to reason that he may lead the island nation to victory in Australia.

Hasaranga shone at the 2021 competition by taking the most wickets (16), more than any other player, and followed that up by concluding Sri Lanka’s successful Asia Cup campaign as the Tournament’s Player of the Year.

The 25-year-old will undoubtedly flourish on Australia’s larger fields, and it is almost inevitable that the great spinner will once again rank among the top wicket-takers this season.
