Tammy Beaumont hits century

Beaumont’s sensational century, a trailblazing achievement and the inaugural one in the women’s edition of the 100-ball tournament, now holds the record for the highest individual score in the history of the competition, regardless of gender. Achieving this remarkable feat in a mere 52 deliveries, she has etched her name in. the history books.

August 14 witnessed the emergence of Tammy Beaumont, who commenced her innings with an unyielding assault right from the outset. While her partner Sophia Dunkley stood there in amazement, Beaumont showcased an impressive display of control and authority. Even against Alana King’s spell, Beaumont’s brilliance continued to shine. Her agressiveness was most evident when facing Bryony Smith, who was subjected to a relentless onslaught and conceded 52 runs from her 20 deliveries.

With 20 boundaries and a couple of sixes, Beaumont’s outstanding innings came to an end. After Will Jacks and Will Smeed, who achieved the feat in the men’s tournament last year, she became the third centurion in the Hundred’s history thanks to her stunning knock.
