Viral IPL Video: Morgan unnecessarily pokes Ashwin ! Latter removes helmet and charges at him, watch what happens next

Viral IPL Video: During IPL 2021, there was a heated exchange between R Ashwin and Eoin Morgan, who were playing for Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders, respectfully. At one moment, it appeared that the clash would become intense when Ashwin took off his helmet and went on to confront latter. However, the matter resolved with Dinesh Karthik stepping in.

What had happened between both?

The incident occurred after Tim Southee dismissed Ashwin during the final over of the DC innings at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. In the 19th over, DC skipper Rishabh Pant and Ashwin managed to take a second run off the last ball, but actually the bowl went to overthrow after it hit batter’s legs. Taking advantage, the duo ran for a second run. This appeared to have upset KKR.

Morgan tried to sledge Ashwin for it but the matter quickly got out of the hand. Many believed that this was not in the spirit of fair play but experts later pointed out that this still lies within the rules of the game.

The argument was eventually resolved when former KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik intervened. During the innings break, DC coach Ricky Ponting was seen discussing something with umpire Nitin Menon, but the exact subject of their conversation is unknown, although it could have been regarding the same issue.

During the match, Sunil Narine, Venkatesh Iyer, and Lockie Ferguson took two wickets each, while Tim Southee claimed one, as KKR limited DC to 127/9 in their 20 overs. DC’s Steve Smith and Rishabh Pant made valuable contributions with scores of 39 runs each. KKR eventually won the match by 3 wickets with 10 balls remaining.
