Delhi Pollution: 4th Consecutive Day of ‘Severe’ AQI, Control Measures Enforced

Delhi Pollution

Delhi Pollution: The air quality index (AQI) in the national capital has remained in the ‘severe’ category for four consecutive days, prompting the closure of primary schools in Delhi until November 10. 50% of employees in government and private offices have been given instructions to work from home, per a Delhi government directive.

Additional restrictions are in place:

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) warns that no relief is expected from the ongoing toxic air. Additional restrictions are in place in Delhi and its neighboring districts as part of the National Capital Region (NCR).

Ban on Constitution:

The Centre has imposed a ban on construction work for linear public projects in Delhi-NCR and the entry of polluting vehicles into the capital as part of Stage IV of the air pollution control plan.

To combat rising pollution levels, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has called a meeting of concerned departments to implement an 8-point action plan in the NCR.
